Chapter 26

They pull the board back and let out a sigh.
"This isn't gonna work." Elayna says.
"We need a new strategy." Danya says. "I have an idea."

The next day at school, Tyler goes to Danya.
"Danya!" He shouts.
"Hey.." She blushes.
"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out later?" He asks.
"Of course!" She smiles.
"Thanks. Do you want me to walk you to class?"
"I'd love that."
Tyler takes her hand and they walk to class together.

In the student lounge, Sami goes to Annika.
"I'm sorry about what happened at the ball."Sami says.
"It's okay. Really." Annika says. "You can date and kiss him. I really don't care. Me and him are over... For good."
Sami smiles. "Okay!" She runs out.

After school, Hunter and Savanna go to the address of his dad's prison.
"Thanks for taking me with you." Savanna says.
"In a way, you're the only friend I have right now." He says.
"Hunter? Is that you?" A voice calls out.
Hunter whips around to see his dad.
"Dad!" He runs up to him but runs into the cell bars and falls.
"Of course.." Savanna rolls her eyes.

That night, the Sibuna Club goes back into the tunnels.
"So, what's your idea?" Jamal asks Danya.
"We stand the board up on its end and push it down and hopefully the other end will land on the other side of the chasm!"
"That's a pretty big hopefully!" Elayna remarks.
"Danya's smart." Tyler says. "I trust her."
"Oh, shut up." Danya rolls her eyes.
Tyler narrows his eyebrows, confused.
They try the strategy and it works.
"Danya, you're a genius! We did it!" Annika cheers.
"Tell me something I don't know." Danya flips her hair.
"So, who's going first?" Jamal asks.
Everyone backs away except for Elayna.
"You big babies!" Elayna laughs.
She tries walking on the board and making her way across.
When she reaches the middle of the board, swinging blades fly out from the walls and start swinging all around her.
