CHAPTER 36
A new day with new hopes for Manik and nandini. manik opened his eyes and after many days he got to see his lady love sleeping cuddling close to him. he tucked a hair string which was coming across her eyelids and disturbing her eyelashes. he planted a gentle kiss on her forehead. he felt her temple a bit warm and touched it with his hand. yes, she had a bit fever he thought. he touched her cheeks which cause nandini to wake up from her sleep. she opened her eyes and saw manik a bit tensed and panicking
n=manik kya hua tum ese pareshan kyu ho???
m=jaan?? u have fever.. aj tum hospital nahi jaogi
n=manik tum kya kehraheho???
she sat on the bed holding his hands
m=main kya kehraha hu?tumhe bukhar ha, kaha tha na mane ke itna kaam mat karo, itna sara pressure mat lo but tum meri sunti kaha ho?? ab dekha bukhar agaya nah??
n=manik calm down, its nothing... the weather is changing, aur body exhausted tha shayed isiliye. theek hojayega
m=i dont know anything, tum aj rest karogi basss
n=manik i cant, hospital me bohot kaam ha, immergency cases ha
m=tum hospital me ekhi doctor ho kya???
n=manik stop being childish..tum jante ho nah?? i cant skip my duties mane abhi abhi resume kiya ha itne long break ke bad

m=theek ha jaw, main kuch nahi kahunga
saying manik got up from the bed and went out of the room. nandini kept on calling his name but he didnt turn around.
n=manik ese zidd kyu karraha ha??? bewaja hi ese gussa karraha ha.. karne do agar woh ziddi ha then um being reasonable. um a doctor. esehi thorasa bukhar hojay main gharpe nahi beth sakti. i need to go to the hospital.
nandini checks her pager and there was already a call from the hospital. she quickly changed herself after taking a bath. in the meantimes nandini was feeling dizzy, her head was aching but she didnt bother as for her , duty comes first
manik was sitting near the pool, feeling angry as well as guilty. he started the morning by yelling at her
m=khud zidd karrahiha aur mujhe kehti ha ke um being childish... hadth hoti ha yaar, apna dhyan nahi rakhegi toa patients ko kaise treat karegi??? but i guess i was a bit loud on her. ese usse bat nahi karni chahiye thi. i should make her understand politely.
manik went back inside the house to his room, but nandini wasnt there. he looked inside the washroom and it was empty too. he comes downstairs and
m=mom, weres nandini???
ny=beta woh toa abhi abhi hospital keliye chali gayi...jaldi me thi, nashta bhi nahi kiya. tumse nahi mili??
manik became very angry hearing that nandini left for hospital even after he told not to go and he was sure she hadnt have medicines also.

m=kuch nahi mom.. main fresh hokar ata hu
manik went upstairs to his bedroom and opened his cupboard angrily. he found a note kept on the first rack where he keeps his towel.
"manik, please dont be angry.. im sorry tumhe bye bina bole jarahihu. tum gusseme the aur abhi tumhare samne ati toa tum mujhe jane nahi dete. manik kal raat tumne khud mujhe itna inspire kiya ha aur aj tum mujhe bass thorisi weakness ki wajase apne kam pe janese rokh raheho?? accha baba sorry, weakness nahi fever. but i'll take medicines khush?? abhi um in a rush, pager aya ha seniors have called me so im leaving. breakfast canteen me karlungi.pakka, tumbhi breakfast karke jana okay???

though manik was still angry on her , but after reading this he kissed the note and uttered a "i love u". he took his phone to call her but at that moment his own phone started to ring and he had to take the call
Hospital
after a 3 hours long surgery nandini came back to her cabir feeling exhausted and stressed. she sat on her chair and rested her head on the chair. closing her eyes she remembered that she hadnt call manik once after the morning nokh jhok. she checked her phone and saw even manik had not texted or called her
n=manik ne ek bhi bar call nahi kiya??? itna gussa ha mujhse?? usne note nahi parah kya??? para hoga... mane uske first rack me rakha tha. shower time par towel lene ke time zarur dekha hoga usne note.
she burried her face between her palm feeling tired. she herself could feel her fever was extending. nandini took out a tablet and was about to have it when her pager rang. she kept the medicine aside and checked it
n=shit.. patient is sinking
and she rushed out of her cabin to see the patient without having the medicine. On the other hand, manik was with his dad in the conference room. he was checking his phone every now and there whether there is any message or missed call as his phone was on silent he didnt want to miss any of her messages.
raj=manik beta are u okay??
his dad whispered between the meeting
m=ya dad, um fine... kuch nahi hua
raj=pay attention to the meeting beta, tumhara dhyan kaha ha?
m=sorry dad, um listening
m(to himself)=i just hope she had her medicines on time warna kahi fever bar gaya toa? nahi nahi, i know meri nandini careless nahi ha. she will have medicines, she had said so she will.

the entire day of these two passed like this.they were busy and engrossed in eachothers duties, work. finally after finishing his work for the day manik came to his dad's cabin

m=ab mujhe kuch kaam ha, kya ma aj office se thora early jasakta hu??
raj=manik, subhah se dekh raha hu, sab theek ha na?? why r u so restless beta???
m=ab dad, actually nandini usse subhah thorasa fever tha .i asked her to take rest today but woh kaha sunti ha, chali gayi hospital . subhah se um also stuck in the meetings, conference that couldnt get a chance to talk to her. so i was just thinking ke hospital chala jau to pick her
raj smiled and patted on maniks back
raj=tum usse bol rahethe ke woh aj chutti lele, aur tum khud kya karte ho?? yaad ha, ek bar jab head injury hui thi and the next day we had a meeting with the clients from japan. tumse itna kaha mane , tumhari mom ne , mukti cabir sabne. but still u were adament and u attended that meeting
manik smiled and run his hand through his hair
raj=im so proud to see both of u being so responsible towards ur work and duties but beta yeh tum donoko samajhna hoga ke health se bara kuch nahi ha. aur ap mahashay, nandu ko samjhanese pehle khud yeh bat samjhiye okay??

Hospital
manik enters nandinis cabin with a bunch of red roses but the cabin was empty
m=i was so sure, madam hogi duty par.
he kept the flowers on the table and his eyes fell on the tablet and glass of water kept there. manik became angry as she didnt take the medicine. nandini came to her cabin and saw manik standing. first she thought it was her imaginary as she was feeling dizzy since the afternoon but had caught a hold on it.

she called out his name and he turned around .. she was even more pale, weaken. her eyes had dark circles, and face was full of stress.

she took a step forward to manik but couldnt walk further and due to dizziness nandini was about to fall but landed in maniks arms. manik holded her in the correct time otherwise her head would have hit the table. he carried her in his arms and made her lie down on the couch.manik sat infront of her and began to touch her cheeks, forehead, rub her palm
m=jaan, akhen kholo.. jaan kuch bolo..
nandini smiled in between the dizziness..
m=ruko, i'll call the doctor
nandini holded his hand and made him sit beside him and she, herself sat on the couch with the help of manik
m=jaan. let me call the doctor.

m=ha dekhliya mane ke kya doctor ho.. ek medicine nahi liya tumne time se apni halat dekhi ha?? nandini, seriously mujhe tumpar kitna gussa araha ha tumhe pata ha. aur uparse tum mujhe doctor ko bhi bulane nahi derahiho.. hadh hoti ha laparwahi ki

manik took the box and a bottle of water from the table and returned to her. nandini took out a capsul and have it. manik felt a bit relaxed after watching her having the medicine

he didnt say anything and quietly put the box back to its place. his silence was the signal that he was angry. nandini smiled as she knew its gonna be tuff for her to pacify him.
n=ghar chale???
he forwarded his hand indicating to hold it and get up but wasnt talking to her. nandini gave him her right hand and carefully got up. manik holded her by shoulders. his hands touched her bare arms which were even more warmer than morning. he didnt say anything to her and picked her up in his arms.
n=manik kya karraheho?? hospital ha i can walk put me down
he didnt hear any of her protest and carried her all the way to the parking lot. everybody in the corridor were smiling seeing them but manik being manik not paying heed to any of them. he walked straight to his car and made her sit on the passenger seat and himself sat on the driving seat. the drive back to home manik didnt look at her and even said anything to her. nandini was looking at her and trying to say something but watching him in a bad mood she decided she will talk to him later at home
manik enters the house nandini in his arms, luckily his parents were out for a party and mukti was also in alya's home. he took her to there bedroom and placed her on the bed carefully. nandini sat there quietly without saying anything and watching him. manik took off his coat and folded his sleeves. he went downstairs to the kitchen and himself made soup for her . after 15 minutes he came back and saw her sitting in the same position resting her head on the headboard. he sat infront of her

nandini opened her eyes and saw him with the bowl of soup. she took the bowl and took a sip

m=kya hua??
n=accha nahi ha tasteless ha..kuch missing ha
manik was confused as he had made it in the correct manner. he took a sip from the bowl

he understood what she meant.
m=main dawait lata hu
manik got up to go but she holded his hand and made him again sit but this time beside her. nandini holded her ears
n=sorry... gussa mat karo nah, chahe toa daat lo, but ese khamosh mat raho. ur silence kills me manik please, please manik. maaf kardo. main bimar hu aur meri medicine yeh soup dawai nahi ha, but its ur love, ur smile and ur care. promise agese tumhari har bat manungi. im sorry
he smiled and pulled her in his strong arms and she hugged him back immediately . manik kissed her hair and whispered in her ears
m=i love u jaan, and im sorry cause i was a bit rude with u but tumhe ese dekkar i couldnt control myself. kyu karti ho ese laparwahi?? janti ho nah i cant see u suffering?? phir?? dubara mat karna okk??
nandini nodded between the hug. he broke the hug and kissed her forehead
n=manik, i dont like fighting with u
nandini said in a childish tone breaking the hug. manik cupped her face and kissed her lips gently
m=kisne kaha ke we are fighting??
n=nahi matlab..aj sara din hum ek dusrese kitne ukhre ukhrese the, then tum gussa hue. mujhe accha nahi lagta
m=jaan, its a sign ke humara relationship bonding is so strong. koi bhi relation is not complete without ups and downs. and humara relation pure love, trust, dedication, care aur understanding pe bandha ha. thats why we care for eachother, want eachother to be safe. jaise mujhpar ek kharoch ati ha aur tumhari jaan nikal jati ha, same goes for me too jaan. thats y i shouted. yeh sab acche signs ha. aur dekho, we patched up cause we know how to make eachother calm, how to make one another smile right???
nandini smiled and kissed his cheeks
m=tum soup peeyo, main change karke ata hu.
manik came out of the washroom wearing his regular vest and track pants and saw nandini eating the soup. she too changed herself in regular night dress. manik bough medicine for her and she without any kind of stubborness had it.
m=chalo sojaw, u need rest.
n=aur tum??
m=um right here
he made her lie down on the bed and sat beside her. he kissed her temple and nandini hugged him by his waist and snuggled closed to him. because of high dose anti- biotic medicine she fell asleep very soon. manik touched her temple, it was still warm. he carefully freed himself from her grip and went to the kitchen to bring ice cold water and a cloth. he came back to her and began to apply the ice cold cloth on her temple.
after removing the cloth each time to dip it again in the water manik touched her forehead to check whether fever was down or not. it was around 3 am at night when fever was gone. he sighed of relief and planted a kiss on her forehead and lied beside her. he looked at his angel sleeping peacefully which filled his heart with happiness. planting another kiss on her cheeks he hugged her tight and drifted into sleep.
The next morning nandini opened her eyes feeling fresh. she looked beside and found manik snuggling close to her which made her smile. she kissed his forehead and ran her fingers through his hair. she was about to get up from the bed when her eyes fell on the bowl and the cloth kept on the bed side table. it didnt took any minute to realize her that it was manik who had put ice cold water cloth on her forehead. she bent down close to his lips and gently pecked his lips. though he was in deep sleep, a sweet smile came on his face which made her blush.
Manik opened his eyes after sometime feeling her absence. he looked here and there and heard the sound of shower and understood that she was inside the washroom.he got down from the bed and went downstairs.

manik went inside the kitchen and made breakfast for nandini . nandini came outside the washroom drying her hair and saw the bed empty
n=shit.. i forgot to place my stole.. meri absence me manik neend se jaggaya
at that time manik entered with tray of breakfast. nandini smiled and before she could ask him anything he placed the tray on the table and made her sit on the couch. first of all he touched her forehead

n=kaise hoga fever?? jab tumne sari raat bethkar mere sarpar thande pani ka kapra dala
m=tumhe kaise pata??
n=itna toa tumhe janti aur samajhti hu nah
m=accha yeh sab choro, chalo breakfast karo.
n=manik yeh kya ha?? omlet, bread butter
m=ha healthy food. kitni weak hogayi ho..thats why aj no paratha and sandwiches.. yeh healthy food, sath me juice
n=mujhe nahi khana ha..ganda ha
m=nandini...zidd nahi karte
n=accha tum bhi ajaw, sathme khate ha
m=theek ha, give me 10 minutes, fresh hokar ata hu
n=okay.
after a delightful breakfast MaNan came downstairs and saw nyonika with the panditji.

nandini sits with nyonika to discuss about mukti's engagement while manik goes to his dad
