Days go by without Lara. In class, she sits as far away as possible, always leaving the classroom before Leon even has a chance to catch up. He knew this would happen, yet as its happening, he wishes he hadn't said what he said. It was idiotic of him to think that she could like him, it was all in his head and it was all Andres' fault for putting it in his head.

He really only notices her absence in class since he's been spending more of his time with Violetta outside of class. He thinks they're on their way to becoming close friends. They don't do much, usually just study together or eat out. It's become a sort of routine that Leon dearly loves and looks forward to every day. Having her back in his life- and as a friend at that- he couldn't be happier.

Today is another day in which Leon cannot wait to get back to dorms. It's Friday, his classes finished for the day and he just wants to take a quick nap before Violetta shows up from her afternoon class. He runs to his dorm, calculating in his head how much sleep he'll be able to manage if he sleeps now. Being that it's only noon, he thinks he'll be able to catch almost three full hours before Violetta returns. The thought is barely forming in his head when he opens the door, completely caught off guard by a guy Leon can't recognize. The young man has his back turned to Leon, inspecting something on Violetta's desk, completely unaware someone has entered the room. Leon slams the door to get the man to turn around.

Once he does his face lights up, then changes into confusion when he sees Leon.

"You're not Violetta."

"No, I'm not" The boy clicks his tongue, sitting himself on Violetta's bed and completely making himself comfortable. Leon stares at the boy until he catches his gaze, raising a brow at Leon. "Yes?"

"What are you doing in my dorm room?"

"Is this not Violetta's dorm room?" Leon considers lying so maybe the boy would leave, too bad he doesn't get the chance to since not even three seconds later, Violetta bursts through the door.

"Federico!" Her arms spread wide as she leaps at the man, completely engulfed in his arms. Leon balls his fist in annoyance because he has no idea who this guy is and Violetta's already throwing herself at him. That should be him, holding Violetta like that.

"Violetta, I've missed you." The guy starts to ramble about something or other that Leon doesn't bother to listen to because he's preoccupied with his previous statement. This guy missed her which means they know each other, for some time now. Not wanting to jump to conclusions, he doesn't automatically assume the worst, but the look on Violetta's face has him thinking twice.

She seems so happy to see him like he's been everything she's been missing while she was over here. Her smile shatters all the thoughts Leon wished weren't true and all he can think about now is how close they are and how she probably had a boyfriend this whole time and he was getting his hopes up. Why wouldn't she have been seeing someone? Leon did always have the worst luck when it came to her and it would only make sense if this bad luck continued and Leon would be told that they had been an item all this time.

"Leon?"

"Hmm." It's now that he realizes she had probably been calling his name for a while, her face showing concern. He smiles at her, to ease her troubles.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, just fine." Her expression remains as she gazes over his sunken features. Leon hopes his expression passes for exhaustion and he's rewarded with a smile, knowing well that she believed him.

"Leon, this is Federico. Federico, this is Leon." The once strange man is now grinning at Leon with a hand outstretched in greeting. Leon tries not to squeeze his hand too hard as he shakes it, smiling through the pain as he thinks about the next words that might come out of his or her mouth.

"Nice to meet you, man. Violetta told me she had a roommate. She never mentioned he was a guy though." He gives her a warning glare and she playfully ignores it by keeping her eyes on the ceiling.

"Sorry if that bothers you." Leon is definitely not sorry.

"Not really, just came as a surprise." Leon nods, an awkward silence starting to form. Violetta cuts in thought, gushing about school and asking Federico if he wants to go eat.

"I'd love some food."

"Great, we'll go to the sandwich shop." She says. The sandwich shop, as in the special sandwich shop. She's taking this guy to what Leon believed to be their special place. Federico is nodding along as he begins to trail after Violetta who's already leaving, not even bothering to ask Leon about his opinion. It's not like she has to, but Leon would have at least liked it if she had acknowledged him before she just left. By some miracle, she does stop, turning to Leon right before she closes the door.

"Want me to get you anything?" Not 'want to come with.' Not 'you want to tag along.' Not 'don't worry it's not our sandwich shop.' Just a simple demand of whether he wants her to get him anything. He shakes his head and she closes the door behind her without as much as a goodbye.

Leon finds himself once again staring after a girl who has left his life. He doesn't want to think this could go as south as what happened with Lara. He doesn't want Violetta to ignore him. He already had to deal with that back in high school. It would be worse now, now after all the time they spent bonding. Leon hopes that whoever this guy is, she doesn't steal Violetta away because Leon never got his second chance. He doesn't want to lose her too.
