I found myself in front of what was once the proud location of the Fairy Tail guild. Now nothing but a crater left in ruins, I found Grandpa Makarov standing in front of a giant crystal-like formation.
"So this is Lumen Histoire."
"(Y/n)?"
"I know you've already called back the others. If you're wondering how I know about this, well, it seems that my family is more connected to Fairy Tail than you thought."
"What?"
Upon seeing Grandpa Makarov's confused expression, I tossed an old tattered book in front of him. He looked at it sternly and observed the book on the ground.
"What is this?"
He questioned as he cautiously observed me. A sad smile formed across my face and I looked up at Mavis who was trapped in the crystal.
"It belonged to my grandmother. It's her diary."
Curious, Grandpa Makarov picked up the book and flipped through the pages. His eyes grew wide as he finally realized who's diary that was.
"You...child you're..."
He couldn't find the words. Even I was shocked when I learned about the history of Fairy Tail, I didn't even realize that I had been connected to this place all along.
Igneel and Acnologia could be heard fighting in the distance while Grandpa Makarov and I stood there staring at each other.
"It doesn't matter who I am. What matters is what you plan to do with that weapon."
"..."
"You must know better than anyone. Zeref...he..."
Grandpa Makarov wouldn't speak. He stared at the book in his hands, it was like time stood still. Then, he finally let out a light chuckle and sighed.
"...I had no idea that they even had a child, but I'm sure that it's no coincidence that you're here now."
"...right."
Just as I was about to speak more, I began to feel faint. A strange feeling in the air.
"We're too late."
"Too late? You can't mean..."
The faces were getting ready to detonate, and I could feel my magic disappearing. Wait. There's something else, something else is approaching.
I ran out of the hidden room beneath the guild and looked up at the dark sky. My eyes searched the area for some sort of sign. Then a large gust of wind whipped past me.
"Ah!"
I tried my best to hold my ground and looked back up at the sky again. Barely able to see through my hair flying in the wind, I spotted it. The white figure flying through the sky, one by one destroying the faces. And it wasn't the only one, I could sense others like it.
"The dragons...they've returned."
Hope returned to Magnolia as magic flowed through the land once again.
"Grandeeney, Weisslogia, Metallicana, Skiadrum, Igneel."
Magic returned and the faces never detonated. I realized that the burden would now fall onto those who know what's to come, the ones that protected us could no longer be there. Laxus, the guild, and my future children. The responsibility falls to the ones that were connected to this from the very start. Grandpa Makarov finally knows who I am, and I know where I belong, but how long before everyone else puts the pieces together? I suddenly get a sick feeling in my gut and I glare at the shadow behind one of the abandoned buildings.
"Zeref..."
"Fate is cruel."
The black wizard walked out of the shadows and revealed himself to me. He smiled gently at me, but my body remained tense.
"I didn't realize that she passed down her legacy to you. To think that he had an heir all along, but you never got to meet him."
"I met him...once. The past is the past."
"Indeed it is."
