Hunter

I was headed over to my brothers apartment with my best friend and my trunk loaded down. Today was the day I was supposed to move into his spare bedroom and start helping out. He had brought me a spare key on his way to work and warned me that his roommate who happened to be his best friend since we were kids might be home. He wasnt so sure about it. I pulled up at the apartment complex and my best friend smirked at me. She had a huge crush on my brother and knew I had a crush on his best friend since about high school. I let myself in and she followed behind with wide eyes It was quiet and we could hear someone gagging down the hallway. My eyes got big and she pushed me down the hallway towards the bathroom. The door was half open and his best friend was hugging the toilet puking his guts up.

"Ethan I dont feel so good dude."he mumbled not looking up.

"Ethan's at work."I spoke up. He looked over and pouted at us.

"Maci it hurts."he mumbled. I walked over and rubbed circles on his back as he heaved again.

"Emma go get some water and a damp rag for him."I said over my shoulder. She headed back down the hallway and I could feel Hunter shaking under my hand. Emma came back and I handed him the bottle of water when he leaned back.

"Hell of way to make an impression on you the day you move in huh."he spoke up. I put the rag on the back of his neck and he sighed.

"How about we get you back to your room so you can rest."Emma suggested. He nodded and flushed the toilet as I stood up. I let him lean on me and we backed out of the hallway. Some girl opened the door down the hallway and narrowed her eyes.

"I woke up and you werent in bed."she said.

"I been puking for the last half hour."he mumbled. She shuddered and took him from my side.

"Must be Ethan's sister, Im Deliah, Hunter's girlfriend."she said giving me a small smile. I nodded and Hunter looked over at me.

"Thanks Maci."he told me before she pulled him back into his room. I rolled my eyes when the door shut and looked back at Emma.

"Lets go get my stuff and get this over with."I replied. She nodded and followed me out to my car. We got my stuff unloaded and my brother came home for his break.

"Hunter ok?"he asked looking at us. I shrugged and Emma got a look on her face.

"Who is Deliah for real?"she asked. My brother groaned and I bit my lip to keep from laughing.

"She's just his friend, she crashes over here sometimes."he replied. Thankfully she had left after putting Hunter back in his room.

"She introduced herself as his girlfriend."I told him. He rolled his eyes and Hunter came out of his room.

"I dont have a girlfriend, she's jealous of any girl who even looks at me."he mumbled sitting on the couch.

"Feel any better?"Emma asked catching his attention.

"Fuck no and my work doesnt even believe me, I have to go in anyway."he said. Ethan shook his head and took the phone away from Hunter. I sighed and sat next to Hunter rubbing his back.

"Im calling you in dude. Maci will be here if you need anything I hope."he spoke up. I nodded and Emma went down the hallway to my room. She came back and Ethan put Hunter's phone on the coffee table.

"Just like old times Hunter?"I asked making him crack a smile.

"What are you talking about Maci?"Emma asked.

"When we were younger and Hunter would stay over at the house. Anytime he ended up sick, Maci would cuddle on the couch with him until he fell asleep and would flip out if anyone would try to touch him."Ethan laughed.
