"That's right," the French accent said through the phone. "Just capture her and take her far away from the BLU base. Torture her for information regarding their Intel. Then you may dispose of her as you see fit."

"Why me?" I gruffly answered the spook. "Because we have reason to believe the BLU spy is following our actions. Sending you, as you are separate from the base, would be less suspicious, don't you think?"

"Ok, it'll be done," I promised, and hung up.

I'm no longer actively on the RED team, even though I'm still considered a member. I live in a small forest cabin, allowing me to hunt and live alone. In return for the cabin and solitude, I do small solo missions for my team every now and again.

And of course, any mission to weaken the BLU team is welcome. After what they did to me... Well, let's just say that the things that I would do to them would make the dangers of everyday combat look like a papercut.

Looking out my cabin window at the midday sun filtering through the leafy canopy, I started packing a bag. Best to head out just on dark.

"What the hell was that crap!" Scout yelled as the Jenga tower collapsed on his lap. Laughing, I let Pyro take the fallen pieces, probably to light on fire at a later date. "Aww man this is much better than poker!" I wiped away tears of laughter.

Our Spy walked into the room. "May I have all of your attention?" he commanded politely, and we all put down what we were doing to swivel around to face him.

"We must be on the lookout. The RED espion has been making a lot of phone calls outside the base. We haven't been successful in tracking the number, so we do not yet know who to, but remember to fais attention." With that, the man went over to Engie and struck up a conversation.

"I guess that means no leaving the base for now," I sighed. Tomorrow Scout and I were going to go climb some of the trees in the forest over near the RED base, but with our own Spy so cautious, it didn't look likely.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, shaking me awake. "Psst, wake up!"

"Mmmph," I grumbled in response, sounding like a half-asleep version of Pyro. I opened my eyes to see Scout at the end of my bed. He was holding his scattergun and two bottles of water.

"Get up," he whispered urgently. I leaped out of bed and grabbed my (p/w), preparing to attack any intruders. Scout put a finger to his mouth and whispered for me to shush. "We're going to go climb the trees," he mouthed. We've done this at night before, but never when we'd been specifically told not to leave the base...

"What if Spy wakes up?" I frantically whispered as we climbed out of my bedroom window silently. "He's asleep, I checked." Scout muttered back as we jumped to the ground and set off for the forest near the Red base.

~ CBS's POV ~

I'd already climbed a tree, and now it was time to wait. The sun had already set, but luckily I had perfect night vision and could see fine. I leaned against the thick trunk of the tree I was in and listened to the approaching voices.

~ Y/N's POV ~

"I bet I'll be able to climb so much taller than you!" I boasted, swinging my (p/w) around. "I beat you last time, and I'll beat you again!" I ran up to the nearest tree and holstered my weapon, just as Scout ran to the tree right next to me and did the same. "First to fall loses!" He called. We each put one foot on the ground at the base of the trunk and one foot in the first foothold, ready to push ourselves up to the first branch.

"3-2-1-GO!"

We both started climbing rapidly. My hair tangled in the night breeze and the branches caught at my clothes, but being a tomboy, of course I didn't care. "I'm already higher than you!" I yelled across to Scout, which was true. I was a few branches ahead, made easier by the fact that I weighed a fair bit less.

Finally sitting on the top branch, I looked for Scout. Fully expecting him to be back on the ground (and being a sore loser), I was surprised that I didn't see him. Probably sulked off, I thought with glee. "I won!" I gloated loudly for good measure.

I balanced against the trunk and looked to my left, seeing a large tree with a lot of soft-looking leaves and thick branches - and it also had thick seeds on it, perfect for hiding and pegging at Scout. I leapt at the tree, easily grabbing a hold of the trunk and nestling into the branches.

I grabbed one of the thick seeds and looked for Scout, ready to throw it. The sound of breathing slightly higher in the tree caught my attention. "Scout?" I called, and began to climb higher.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed me around the neck. Gasping for air while still trying to balance myself on the branch I was on, I cracked the seed as hard as I could against the hand holding me. With a deep-sounding grunt of pain the hand let go, and I scrambled higher into the branches.

Luckily the branches were thick with a tough bark, making them easy to climb. I climbed faster than I had even in my races with Scout, and flew into the tallest branches, but even then I could hear the ragged breathing directly beneath me. Eventually I ran out of tree to climb, and looked down to face the man beneath me.

The first thing I noticed about the man was the black clothes he was wearing. I could make out a slight red tinge, signifying his alliance with the RED team, but the red bled into the darkness and I wasn't able to make out anything else. It was too tall to be the RED Scout, but I was fairly sure none of the others could climb a tree, and certainly couldn't keep up with me the same way this man did.

The man drew a large knife from a sheath at his belt, the outline in the darkness looking a lot like the Kukri that our Sniper always carried. But I didn't think the RED team had a sniper? I thought to myself as I recoiled into the branches with fear. I'd certainly never seen the enemy Sniper on the battlefield.

The Sniper swung the weapon at me and I dodged, hearing the Kukri hit the tree with a dull thunk! and lodging the blade in the bark. As the man tried to pull his knife free I grabbed his head and slammed it hard against the trunk, trying to knock him out. He shook his head free and pulled his knife out of the trunk, hitting my hands and wrists with the handle, trying to make me let go of my grip on the bark. I grabbed onto the man instead, trying to push him out of the tree. He wouldn't budge under my grip. All I could see under the brim of the enemy Sniper's hat in the darkness was a sinister grin. Then the man purposefully fell backwards and out of the tree, taking me with him.

To be continued.....
