Have an update! This was requested by @psyfrost. Sorry if this isn't any good, only ever written one Medic fic before ;~;

Also the Japanese drink mentioned, Oi Ocha, is so nice ^.^ I'm the only one I know who likes it though, everyone else says it's too bitter.

Enjoy, mah koalas!

~ Medic's POV ~

I'm a doctor. The others say I am mad, but this madness has a method. I am precise, effective, and above all, deadly.

But all that changed when I met her.

Her name is Y/N. She is schön, stubborn, intelligent, and a fighter. She became a mercenary last month, and I have not been the same since.

This fraulein has made me quite mad. She infects my thoughts like a virus. My symptoms are inflamed cheeks, glazed eyes, lack of focus, erratic movements, mild stutter, and insomnia.

I believe that I have been infected with the "Love-sickness." I do not know much about this disease, but I will research it and create an antidote.

~ Y/N's POV ~

I dug around in the cupboard, playing real-life Tetris to try and cram in all of the groceries. Across the room, Engineer was doing the same with the fridge.

"Hey Engie," I called, "I'm throwing out this weird tinned fish I found. It's way past its use-by date, if it was ever edible in the first place."

As I gingerly removed the gross stuff, Engie called back "Hey darlin, who owns this Oy Oka?"

Hearing the name of my favourite drink I hurriedly ran over to grab it, hitting my head hard on the corner of the cupboard shelf in the process. "It's unsweetened green tea. You pronounce it "Oi Ocha," I corrected him, holding the precious green can.

"Uh... darlin?" He frowned slightly, pointing to my head. "You alright?" I put my hand to my scalp and looked at it, feeling nauseous at the sight of my hand covered in blood.

"I'm going to see Medic," I mumbled, grabbing hold of my stomach, and running from the room.

~ Medic's POV ~

I stood in the infirmary, pinning to the wall the results of my days work. I'd taken multiple imaging scans and performed multiple tests on my own heart, some of them quite painful. My work was often interrupted by thoughts of Y/N, wondering how she might be doing, and wishing she were mine.

Just then, my door flew open and in rushed a patient. "Ja?" I sighed turning around to see Y/N of all people, the very object of my affections. She was clutching her head with one hand and her stomach with the other, all colour paled from her face, except for the red river flowing from a deep head trauma.

My mind whirled as I quickly found all the medical supplies I would need to fix the wound. Where usually I was calm and professional, I found myself worrying if she would be alright. Would she survive? Will there be any scarring? Discomfort? I quickly sat her down, fetching her a bucket in case she threw up, and got to work cleaning and suturing the wound.

* Timeskip brought to you by 1am exhaustion *

I sat down and admired my work, wiping the sweat from my brow and removing my bloodstained gloves. Archimedes perched on my shoulder and cooed to me. Are you sure your handiwork is all you're admiring? He seemed to taunt, and I pushed the bird from my shoulder.

Y/N was watching this with an amused look, swallowing the painkillers I gave her and letting Archimedes perch himself on her knee. "I've never seen anyone get along with a bird so well," she laughed, that beautiful laugh, and patted the dove gently, cooing back to him. My face flushed red and my heart rate reached a crescendo, but luckily she did not witness the sudden fit. I turned to face the wall, gathering my composure, glad she could not see my embarrassing state.

"So how did you get injured anyway?" I made conversation, giving the colour in my cheeks time to return to normal. "Eyelander blade? Atomiser?"

She grinned sheepishly. "Nah. Got attacked by a fucking shelf."

We burst into laughter for the next several minutes.

~ Y/N's POV ~

"Uh... Doc, what's all that stuff?" I pointed to the wall. He'd pinned up a lot of charts, and what looked like X-rays of a heart?

He turned to face me and followed my gaze. "Ah, that. Would you like to see?" I nodded curiously. He took down some of the charts and X-rays and brought them over to me.

"I am researching a disease in order to make an antidote." He pointed to the images. "This is an echocardiogram, and this is an electrocardiograph. The words sound the same, but one measures the heart's electrical signals, and the other is an ultrasound, similar to what pregnant women have."

"So you're researching a heart disease?" He nodded. "Yes. The problem is, both the electrocardiograph and echocardiogram revealed perfectly normal results, when I know for a fact the heart contracted the disease."

I thought on that for a second, ignoring the pain in my head. "So it looks fine but it's not?"

He scowled at the charts and picked up another. "Exactly," he continued, though he seemed to be talking to himself more than talking to me, which I didn't mind in the slightest.

"So I performed two further diagnostic tests, a coronary angiography and a myocardial perfusion imaging scan." He must have noticed my blank look, because he gave me a small smile. "The CTA let me check for clots, whereas the MPI let me look at the heart on a computer, like a 3D X-ray."

I nodded my understanding, returning his smile. "So who's the patient?" I asked, and his smile faltered. "Me," he said quietly.

Wait... he has a heart disease? I started to cry, the blood on my hand from my head smearing on my cheekbones as I wiped away my tears. "So that's it?" I mumbled thickly through my tears. "If you don't find an antidote, you'll die?"

Medic looked alarmed. "Nein, not at all!" He assured me. "I just won't be able to focus, I won't sleep, and it will be difficult to work is all." I looked at him with a confused expression. "But it's a disease?" I asked like a question.

"Ja. Love-sickness." Medic blushed and avoided my gaze. "I love you, fraulein."

~ Medic's POV ~

"...me?" She stared at me as if dumbstruck. She obviously didn't feel the same way. I hid my face in my charts and diagrams, sorting them needlessly. "Forget it," I mumbled, going back to my work.

Y/N grabbed my arm suddenly, pulling me into a tight hug. I wrapped my arms around her and could smell her hair. She was so warm, and the flushing in my cheeks lessened, while my heart rate returned to normal. "I love you too!" she whispered, and then she kissed me.

It all began when I met her.
