I walked out to the back patio. Did that really just happen? Was he really playing these games? I didn't want to hear it that's for sure. I didn't want to go back to feelings miserable about myself, hoping there was still a chance for us.
But what if there was?
They game had just finished and Ashton and Calum had ended up beating Jack and Celeste. Afterwards they decided to call an uber to pick them up since both had been drinking. Next up it was Ashton and Calum against Mali and I.
Luke had eventually followed suit and walked outside and was leaning against the dorm frame, only feet from where I was standing next to the table. Michael was still sitting in the chair next to the hot tub.
It was time to start our game. Ashton and Mali were currently doing eye-to-eye to see who would go first....both of them made it....so now Calum and I would do it.
Calum never misses eye to eye...he was probably the best player out here. I on the other hand was a bit tipsy and wasn't quite on my game...but I was extremely competitive and wasn't playing on losing....hopefully.
Calum began to count "1...2...3"
We both shot...to not surprise he made and and mine was a little to far. Ashton and Calum began their turn and both made their shots. I could already tell this wasn't going to last very long.3
The game ended with Ashton and Calum easily beating us. After the game Mali decided to head home and Michael and Luke began their game against Ashton and Calum. I just stood around the table watching.
After about 10 minutes both teams were down to one cup each. From there, neither team could seem to close it out.
It was Ashton's turn and he tossed the small ball across and it went it. All Calum had to do now to seal the game was make it.
Calum never lost a game of beer pong..that I knew of at least so I had all the confidence in him. He went to shoot but paused mid way through before the ball left his hand. He turned to me and tossed me the ball.
I looked at him confused.
"I know alcohol makes people see and do crazy things Cal, but you do realize I'm not the cup" I teased.
"Celeb shot" he smiled
"You're really going to give up the chance of winning to let her shoot?" Ashton asked confused
"She's got this" he said still looking at me.
I was never good at making the last cup. I probably had a worse shooting percentage than the Knicks.
"Don't choke" Michael teased from across of the table.
"The only thing she's going to be choking on tonight is this dick" Calum joked
Everyone laughed except for Luke that is. He looked pissed.
"You got this" Calum whispered in my ear.
I smiled and tossed the ball.
It made it.
I know it seemed silly but I was so excited. I NEVER made the last cup. Never.
Calum wrapped his arms around me from behind and twirled me around.
"Look who finally got some game" Ashton joked.
As Calum sat me down on the ground I noticed one of the boys were missing...and it was Luke.
Sydney, Australia - November 11, 2015
It had been a few days since I arrived at the boys bachelor pad and I figured after all the goofing off the past several day that I was time for me to work on the final song for my album. I was sitting in the small recording studio in the basement with one of Michael's guitars, a black pen, and a notebook.
I still could seem to have any inspiration. I had been sitting in here for what seemed like hours and nothing. Not even a simple riff. I was suffering from major writers block. I thought being here with my bestfriend would help ease it...but still nothing. I felt my phone vibrate and looked down. It was Jerry, my manager. I picked it up and slid the answer button across my rose gold iPhone.
"Hello?"
"Hey Kaydence, how have you been ?"
I took a hand full of skittles and shoved it into my mouth, not even worrying about how unmannerly it was. Skittle were my anxiety medicine.
"Better" I manage to say.
"Well I have some great news. One of the performances back out of the American Music Awards and they want you to fill the spot"
"WHAT?!" I shout. "I get to perform at the AMA's? Is this real life right now?"
He laughs. "Yes, I'm glad you're excited! But there's a catch. They're expecting you to perform your new single"
I pause. What?
"But I don't have a new single..." I trail off
"Exactly, but they want something new and fresh...so you need to write a new song...which also will help complete your album. We're planning on a January release"
I sit there not know what to say. I had 11 days to write a new song and I had writers block.
What the fuck.
