↠ chapter eight

Hoshi's hand moves closer and closer, finally touches my hair and I start to hold my breath.
"You have popcorn in your hair" he smiles and takes the popcorn out of my hair and I start breathing again. Damn, I already thought he would kiss me, I'm so stupid.
"Ah, thank you" I giggle and hope that he didn't notice my numbness. He grins and looks at the popcorn. I look to the side biting my bottom lip and shake my head because of my stupidity.

It's already 11pm and Hoshi decides to go home. He said he needs to plan something important. He and the other boys are seriously so hardworking, it's admirable. I'm so thankful for today, he made me smile so many times and I really needed this right now.
I have to leave South Korea in one week. I settled down already and I will miss it so much. I will miss my cute little students, Melody and Simon, the friends I made here, all members of Seventeen and most especially Hansol.. we both neither seen nor talked with each other in three weeks. I avoided going to their practice room because I wanted to forget him for once and for all. I thought at least.. but it seems impossible.
Just the simple thought of his name was enough to make my stomach twist. It was honestly pathetic, how he was able to make me feel such happiness within this short time, only to swiftly take it away in the same breath. Each passing day the feeling of not seeing him weighed more heavily on me, but I knew it was for the best..

*omniscient narrator pov*

"Dude, Y/N is already leaving next week. We should do a farewell party on Friday for her and invite all her friends. What do you guys think?" asks Hoshi the other members.
"That's a great idea, lets make it a good one!" answers Seungkwan.
"I'm for it!" says Jeonghan and Seungcheol.
"Yes! And I will bake the cake" says Mingyu excited. The others agree to it as well and they all start planning it.
"Are you coming as well?" asks Seungkwan Hansol who was all quiet the whole time.
"Ah, me? Well.. I'm not sure. I don't think I will be welcome there" mumbles Hansol.
"What are you talking about all of a sudden, you should definitely come!"
"Yeah we'll see, I don't know yet seriously" Hansol gets up and leaves to the bathroom.
They plan to book an apartment as a party location where they all fit in and celebrate the farewell party. Evelyn, her friend is invited as well of course. They couldn't spent a lot of time together because it was a long ride to get to each other, so that will be a big surprise. Even friends of the members are invited since it was a good opportunity to see them again. They want Melody and Simon to come for a while as well because they had a huge impact on Y/N's stay here as a teacher and she will be happy when they come.

The day of the farewell party for Y/N has finally come. Hoshi, Seungcheol and Seungkwan get to the party location first and decorate the room. Some minutes later Mingyu, Wonwoo, Jeonghan and Jihoon join them with the really cute cake Mingyu made. Jun, Minghao and Dino prepare the music and lights. Evelyn and the other friends show up some minutes later as well.
Joshua texted Y/N earlier today that she should get ready at 7pm because he wants to take her somewhere and he is now heading to her apartment to pick her up.
"Wow, you look very pretty! Are you ready?" says Joshua.
"Aw, thanks Josh! Yeah, I'm good to go but where are we even going?" asks Y/N.
"I can't tell you yet. You will see when we get there" he smiles.

*Y/N pov*

Joshua and I walk up the stairs of the building where the party takes place, and I'm still clueless what's going to happen. Joshua opens the door and everything is just dark and I couldn't see anything. Suddenly the lights turn on and I recognize familiar faces.
"WELCOME TO YOUR FAREWELL PARTY Y/N!" shouts everyone at the same time and I couldn't believe my eyes. I'm so touched and my eyes sting with tears. Everyone gathers around me and hugs me one by one and wishes me the best for my future and that I should come and visit very soon.
During the course of the evening the atmosphere is just awesome, everyone is dancing, drinking and having fun. Melody and Simon already left, they said they don't want to disturb and let the teens be among themselves. Claire, a cute friend I made during my stay in Seoul came as well. She actually lives next door and we often hang out.
"Hey Sis, I'm so glad you came as well!" I say and hug Claire.
"Of course, babe! I can't believe you're already leaving" sobs Claire.
"Aw, I can't believe it either.. time went by so fast. I really should extend my stay" I say jokingly.
"YES, do it!" we both hug again.
It was pretty exciting and overwhelming for Claire to be in the same room with Seventeen, since she has never met them before and actually has a huge crush on Seungcheol.
"I can't breathe properly being surrounded by all these handsome guys!" says Claire.
"Ah yeah, I feel you. It was the same for me at first but I kind of got used to it now" I laugh.
"And I saw Seungcheol staring at you several times tho. You should try to talk to him" I encourage Claire.
"Oh god, he did?" Claire starts to blush and looks over to Seungcheol. And right in that moment he looks at her again and Claire overcomes her shyness and gives him the sweetest smile. He smiles back and turns towards us.
"I guess I should leave you two alone now and get to know each other. Have fun babe!" I wink at her and walk away.
Someone covers my eyes from behind and I turn around to see who it is. My jaw just drops and I squeal when I see who's standing in front of me. It's Ally, my best friend and soulmate. I got to know her through the internet and we became so close ever since we first talked to each other. We have so much in common it's like we're the same person and it's kind of scary sometimes but I love her so much. We both start crying because it's actually the first time we see each other in person and I can't believe she is here in South Korea right now. She tells me that she is here for vacation and she heard about my farewell party so she wanted to surprise me, which was definitely successful!

Mingyu, Jihoon, Seungcheol, Claire, Evelyn and some other friends and I started playing a couple of games, with a couple shots of liquor thrown in between, and now we all are feeling funny and good, barely even remembering the fact that I'm not supposed to be drinking tonight since I have to drive home save with Claire together. But we all have so much fun and I didn't care about anything at the moment.

I could feel the stare of someone's eyes from across the room, but I couldn't tell where exactly they're coming from. The party is crowded and there is almost no space to walk, but I couldn't shake the weird feeling that there were specific pair of eyes on me at all times.
I move over to the drink table to down another shot, so I could try and shake the strange feeling that was clouding the atmosphere around me. The liquid burned as it slid down my throat but the instant the drink hit my stomach, an overwhelming desire to dance takes over my body. I look over to the group of people dancing and decide to join them. I enjoy the feeling of the alcohol taking over my mind, when I suddenly feel a pair of hands attach themselves to my waist. I'm about to turn around to kindly tell the person grinding into my ass to fuck off but when his face comes into my view, the words get lost.
„Ah, you scared me!" I gasp.
„I scared you?" smirks Hoshi.
„Yeah, I thought you were someone else."
„Would you mind dancing with me?" he asks.
„Not at all, I would love to dance with you" I say.

I let the music control my movements. It's fun and I can feel a lightness that takes over me. Hoshi is such a good dancer and I realize just now how attractive he actually is. His arms tighten around my waist, I feel the warmth of his body and I lean my head on his chest. Hoshi looks down on me and kisses my forehead. I immediately get this tingly feeling inside my body. We keep dancing together for a while and I suddenly feel the urge to go to the bathroom because of all the drinks I had. I lurch towards the bathroom when I see Hansol with a girl sitting on a lounge, really close together. It was actually the first time seeing him ever since our last meet and that's not what I have imagined how I would see him again. It just made my heart ache more as I watch him placing his arm around her shoulders and they start to kiss. Stupid as I am, I bump into a guy who walks past me and Hansol and the girl turn their head towards my direction. I just stand there, not knowing how to react. I didn't want him to see me, I wish the ground would open and swallow me up. At first I didn't even notice that tears roll down my face, I turn around and walk away when I hear Hansol calling my name. I insist to walk straight but Hansol quickly follows me and grabs my hand.
„Let me go" I hiss and try to loosen his grip.
„No. I won't let you go this time" he says with a definite look in his eyes.
„Don't come to me. I tried so much to hold myself back from you, so I won't ever look at you again. Now I'm seeing you kiss that girl.. I can't do this anymore, Hansol. I'm kind of glad that I have to leave South Korea next week already" I burst into convulsive sobbing.
„Please stop crying. I can't stand seeing you cry Y/N.." he says with a shaky voice.
I push myself away and leave him standing there alone.
