•Callie's POV•

The fundraiser was running smoothly, and it became even better later in the night when the snow began to fall again.

The fairy lights and lanterns were turned on, illuminating the area with flittering light.

It was always busier at night time, and because the light wasn't as good, I had decided to give the camera a rest for the time-being.

Cason's hand was wrapped securely around mine, it was as though he was keeping to his promise the moment he said it, and for that I knew that he was honest and genuine.

We have only known each other for such a short amount of time, but it was though it had been years. I love everything about him, his charm, his cheeky smirk, his protectiveness, but mainly just that he was someone who I clicked with so easily.

"Is there something on my face or something?" He asks, pulling me out of my own thoughts.

"What?" I ask, flustered.

He shows me that cheeky smirk which makes me smile a little, "You were just staring at me."

I shake my head and look away, "Right, sorry."

I see him roll his eyes out of the corner of mine, "There's no need to apologise, I know how good-looking I am too. I only have one condition though."

I'm about to reply but he tilts my head back in his direction with his thumb on my chin. He was close, a lot closer than I thought he was. Our noses were almost touching.

He lowers his voice to a husky whisper, "As long as I get to look at yours too."

This time I'm the one to roll my eyes, "You're ridiculous."

He smirks again, "Ridiculous enough to do this?"

With that his lips touch mine, and my eyes flutter closed. I didn't even care that there were people walking around us, in that moment it was just him and I, Cason and I.

He moves his hand from my chin to cup my cheek, and I rest my hands on his strong chest.

The kiss was sweet and gentle, as well as the snow gliding down on us in light flakes, the whole scene was perfect.

When we break apart, I wrap my hands around his neck and smile at him. He winds his arms around my waist and gives me a small smile too.

There was something in his eyes, something deep inside that stirred something inside me. The way he looked at me was how I had seen guys in movies and imagined them in books to look at a girl.

Tonight, right now, I was that girl.

He looks as though he's about to say something when I get a sudden mind-link from Abby.

"Callie! Cason! I don't know where Jarrod has gone!"

My eyes widen and I can see that Cason got that too.

I detach myself from Cason and grab his hand, starting to rush towards his house.

"Where are you?" I ask Abby, including Cason in the mind-link as well.

"Still at his house, but I had to frantically run into the closet. The other hunters came back, I panicked and went in here."

"We're coming. Where was Jarrod?" Cason asks.

"I don't know! I turn around for one second and when I turned back he wasn't in the room and the back door was open." She replies.

We're out of the town square now and closer to Jarrod's house.
