•Callie's POV•
I was waiting anxiously in the living room of the pack house.
Abby was being treated out here, since she only had a few, small minor cuts and scrapes from the barbed-wire. Jarrod was sitting beside her as the pack nurse cleans her wounds.
"You'll be more than fine, they'll heal in no time." The nurse says, cleaning up her equipment, "Maybe even by tomorrow if you get a good sleep tonight."
Nobody seemed to be worried about who Jarrod was, just that he refused to leave Abby's side.
If I wasn't in such a worried state, I might have shown a small smile.
"Thank you." Abby says to her. She smiles and wanders off.
I couldn't stop fidgeting, it gave me something to do. I was sure that if I stayed still I would either stop breathing or break down.
"He'll be okay Callie, he has Alpha blood, it takes more than a little snare to do a lot of damage to him." Abby reassures me.
But it wasn't just 'a little snare', it was a bear trap, those things are deadly. Cason was losing a lot of blood, but she was right, I needed to stop thinking so negatively.
I glance at Jarrod, who seems to look worried for me.
I sigh, "I know. I'm just really worried."
A door suddenly opens, but unfortunately it's not the door I was hoping for.
Alex and Karen walk in the front door, Cason's parents, with his sister Kayla following behind them.
Karen notices me and rushes over, sitting beside me, "Oh Honey, we came as soon as we heard. Do you know how he's doing?"
I shake my head, "They're all still in there." I motion with my head to a closed door.
She pats my shoulder comfortingly and gives me a small smile, "He's a strong boy, and he has you so he'll be fine in no time."
"I don't think we've officially met yet." Says an intimidating voice above me.
I glance up and see Cason's dad, Alex, looking at me, "It seems my boy has found an equally strong mate."
I could see where Cason got most of his features from, but there was an unmissable scar running for a good five centimetres down the side of his left cheek.
I nod at him, "Thank you Sir."
"Please, just call me Alex." He replies.
Kayla sits on an empty chair. She looks worried too, even though I've gotten the impression she's a bit of a brat, I could definitely sympathise with her now. After all, I did have an older brother too.
'Sky, have you heard anything from Hudson?' I ask my tiger.
'No, I'm in the dark as much as you here.' She responds.
Alex must realise that Kayla needs some condolence, because he sits on chair next to her and holds her in a side hug type of way.
A door opens again, and I get my hopes up, but it's just Alec and Todd walking in the front door too. I stand up and give Alec a hug, needing him for support.
He holds me to him, I feel him take in a deep breath, "How you holding up Waterbug?"
"Better now." I reply into his chest.
We break away and Todd gives me a hug too, after all, he is like my brother as well.
"Where's dad?" Alec asks.
