Yumi’s POV

“Let’s go Madeline.”

After Dylan letting me go to Madeline’s room to check on her, I excitedly ran upstairs. I slowly open the door and saw her rubbing her eyes with her doll on her arms. She is so adorable! Then she looks at me and a smile drawn on her face. I quickly walk towards her and ask her if she wants to join for breakfast. She didn’t respond and looks so hesitant for a moment. But a little later, maybe after having an internal battle within her, she reluctantly nods her little head on me. I happily clapped my hands and pick her up. I brought her to the bathroom to brush her teeth and fix her hair.

After sometime, we both left the room and go downstairs where Dylan met us halfway. He gives me a smile and put his arms around my waist. He noticed Madeline shyly behind my legs. So, I gently push her in front of me.

“Madeline.” I called for her attention and she looks at me with her big green eyes. “Did you know him?” I ask her pointing to Dylan. She stares at Dylan and nods. “Oh…” I said and giggle.

“Come on, Angel.” Dylan said as he pulled me close to him. I am holding Madeline’s hand so she was pulled also.

“What did you cooked for us?” I ask him excitedly.

“Your favorite.”

“Pancakes?”

“Yup.” He winks and set the plate in front of us. My cheeks heats up and saw him grin widely. He loves teasing me. I look at Madeline and noticed that she is staring between me and Dylan.

“Are you okay, Madeline?” She nods and looks down at the plate.

“Dylan?”

“Hmm-mm?”

“Who is taking care of Madeline now?” I ask him while caressing her hair.

“No one.”

“No one, but why?” I whisper.

“Ever since her parents died, she stops speaking. She didn’t also want anyone to touch her.” I gasp.
