Most of us are born in and grow up in a society that constantly enforces heterosexuality. Fairy tales with princes and princesses. Commercials and movies with husband and wife, or girlfriend and boyfriend.
I never had an objection to that idea of man with woman. Only around fourth grade did I start to understand the idea of homosexuality. But then I began educating myself. Started slow, gained momentum.
I was totally gonna be a great straight ally, right?
