Around the same time I started learning about the LGBT+ community, my rectors daughter, then son, came out as trans.
And she was burned at the stake....
No, I'm not serious. My rector did her whole sermon that day on the topic, and everyone was really supportive. This continued to open my eyes. My parents also started talking more about sexuality and gender, and I'm so lucky that they're not homophobic.
