Treat You Better

Off To A Good Start.

As the days  passed Lauren grew a lot closer to her family She had met members of her family that she hadn't seen since she was a child it was a very emotional time and a bit overwhelming for Lauren but I could tell that she was very happy to see her family, to be back with them, to have that second chance that she thought she had lost years ago.  I was in the backyard getting the fire ready for the grill today Lauren her parents Mike & Clara and Taylor & Chris along with a few of our friends we had made and Lauren's family  Lauren and I had planned a big cookout and things were going great. I stood in front of the grill poking the Charcoal bricks with a long steel grade until I felt a hand on my shoulder

I quickly turned to see the most beautiful pair of green eyes staring warmly back at me

"Did I scare you babe" Lauren asked with a slight giggle before giving me a reassuring kiss

"A little" I replied with a bashful smile 

"Listen, I never really got the chance to thank you for doing all of this these past few weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions for me and it's been crazy I honestly never thought that I would see them again but because of you.. it happened I can't ever thank you enough for everything that you have done for me and I love you for taking me in and being there for me" She said as she stared into my eyes

I lowered my eyes and took a hold of Lauren's hands placing them securely into my own

"You don't have to thank me.. if you wouldn't have come into my life when you did Lauren i'd probably still be the same sad person I was before I met you and I saw that you needed this I couldn't  just stand by when I knew that you both had a chance to make things right"

I said as I gently ran my fingers through her hair Lauren smiled softly and closed her eyes before burying her head in the crook of my neck

"I love you" she whispered

"I love you too".

The cookout went over very well.. Extremely well actually  Lauren and I were in our room Lauren was just out of the shower and I was laying in bed relaxing reading a magazine. I felt the mattress depress causing me to look up from my reading.

"What are you reading?" she asked as she stared at the magazine

"Oh just horoscope stuff its quite interesting actually" I said as I glanced at her curiously and smiled

Lauren rose from the bed and quietly went back into the bathroom to blow dry her hair after a while I had begun to slowly drift off to sleep when I heard the bathroom door slowly open lauren walked out  and stood in front of a full length mirror I watched as she slowly unbuttoned her shirt and stared at herself in the mirror she Hadn't  noticed that I was watching her until she turned to look at me

"You're  so beautiful" I whispered to her as I sat myself up in bed Lauren quickly  lowered her head I stood up and walked over to her embracing her  in a gentle hug before she began crying in my arms I comforted Lauren  as her tears fell and I knew why she was crying everything that she has gone through had finally broken her she had been strong for too long.. Far too long

I gently wiped her tears away with the pads of my thumbs before placing soft kisses on both of her checks

"I-I love you s-so much" she whimpered as tears refilled her eyes

"You have n-no idea what I had t-to"

"Shhhhh Lauren its ok, its ok baby I'll always be here" I whispered as I kissed her forehead Lauren raised her head and our lips connected in a soft yet passionate kiss

That night Lauren and I made love for the first time it was passionate it was beautiful it was everything that i'd wanted it to be Lauren had finally let her guard down and trusted me enough to give herself to me conpletley and without fear of any consequences our love for one another grew stronger I was in love with her  and making love to her only confirmed that it confirmed how much she needed me and how much I needed her..everything was perfect.. Completely perfect.
