Chapter 8

It's been two weeks since the incident and things weren't good for Leni. She had constant nightmares and stayed in her room most of the time.

Today, Francisco had soccer practice with Real Madrid for their upcoming game against Liverpool. He was glad that they allowed practice in California because it was easier for him.

He brought along Leni to heighten her spirits. He knew that the pharmacy incident was still getting to her.

While out on the field with his team mates, his best friend and also team mate Antonio Sanchez spoke,

"How's things with you and tu familia?"

"It's great! But ever since the incident with Leni, she's been very mute about stuff."

"That's normal, she's been through a lot dude. Just make her feel safe, then she'll know that she doesn't have to worry."

"I guess so...."

"I'm really proud of you man!" Antonio said

"Why?"

"Because, you're one the best soccer players out there and you're raising two teenagers at only 29. That's a fucking miracle amigo!"

Francisco couldn't help but laugh.

"Well, that's true! I just wish people would just understand what I go through inno. They just judge me and Liv.And they dont know shit"

"I feel you man. But I mean you've changed to. Before you use to be at the club almost every night in Madrid. Now, you're just home."

"Yeah ever since I came back to America, I haven't been out as much. Mainly because the paparazzi are crazy down here. "

"Okay, how bout this lets hit the club tonight. I mean you deserve a fucking break from all this drama man. Oh and bring your hot girlfriend Olivia"

"Haha,I'm all for it, I need to get wasted pronto!"

Just then Leni came onto field to meet up with her dad.

"Hey dad, hey uncle Toni." She said while drinking a slushy.

"Hi baby, what's up?!"

"Oh nothing, I'm just tired of sitting. And....the guys here are hot so I wanted a closer look."

"Eww Leni, that's really uncomfortable."

"How?"

"These guys here are my friends and you think they're hot."

"Oh come on dad, they're in their twenties."

"Yeah and so am I. That's why it's uncomfortable."

"Oh whatever dad."

For the entire soccer practice, Leni would do random things to get on her dad's nerves. For instance, she'd play with his cheeks or try to braid his hair when he went for water. She even clung onto his two legs on purpose, yelling for him to stay.

After practice Francisco and Leni went into Coldstone for ice cream.

Leni got vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and skittles. Francisco on the other hand took while to make his creation.

"Oh my God dad could you hurry up! You've been deciding for ten minutes!"

"Callàte! Ummm I'll have cookies and cream with gummy bears."

The girl made his ice cream and gave it too him.

Leni watched as the woman flirted with her dad, she couldn't help but laugh a little.
