From Annoying to Avoiding

Your dad left early the next morning so he could run a few errands.Fine by you because today you'd be spending most of your time at Olympus.You have one week left to get a lifeguard set up at the country club and neither Percy or Leo have had proper lessons.So today,you were determined to get the majority of work done.

It was about one in the afternoon,you were waiting by the pool when you heard the gates open.Leo came in but you didnt see Percy with him.

"Where's Percy?"you asked as Leo walked up to you.

"He wouldn't answer his phone and he wasn't at his house.I dont know where he is,but when I asked his mom she said he was 'running errands'."Leo said then shrugged.

"Whatever,we'll start without him.He knew when lessons were.Come on."

Two hours later and you and Leo made great progress.Leo,despite being easily distracted,picked up on everythig you said really quick,keeping you from having to repeat yourself like you do with Percy.

You were waiting for Leo by his car when Percy pulled in on his motorcycle.

Way to be three hours late.

You stood there as Percy got off his bike and walked over to you.

"Lets start."he said.

You looked at him like he had sprouted wings,"Late much,Jackson?"you spat with anger.Seriously,does this kid not own a watch?

He rolled his eyes,"Whatever,can we just go?"now he sounded annoyed,well guess what,he's the idiot who missed class.

"You can stand here if you want.Im going home"you stated as Leo came out of the bathroom.

"Dude,what happened to you?"Leo asked as he walked to where you and Percy were.

"I had some shit to do."

"Well Im glad you got it done but Im not staying here to teach you."You said then turned to Leo and gave him a hug,"I'll see you in class tomorrow."

With that,you left.You decided upon not going home yet.Your dad wouldnt be home so you drove to the beach.The beach was ome of your favorite places to go.Thanks to Percy and his attitude,you were now in a pissed off mood.

How could he just expect the world to pause for him so he could do whatever he wanted?Well guess what,it doesnt work like that.

You sat quietly on the deserted beach.No one but you and the seagulls were there and even they kept flying away.

"Like what did he have to do that was so much more important then his job?"you asked no one as you tried to launch seashells towards the ocean.

Now that you thought about it,he's messed up alot of things and pissed you off more then usual since you've had to teach him.

He annoys the shit out of you,drags you out on a forced date(with Leo's help),dragged you to a party where you had to take his drunk ass home with you,and he's missed more then one class.

"He drives me crazy."you mumbled to yourself then laid back on the sand.

The next few days flew by.You finished the final assignments you had before their due date just so you could feel closer to the end of the year.With how busy you've been this week,you've had no time to give anymore lifeguard lessons,but you didnt care.You knew from the start Percy would never take it seriously and you wouldnt trust him with saving anyone's life if he had to.

Speaking of Percy,he hasnt even talked or annoyed you all week.Which this idea,didn't bother you,it was fact that he acted like he was avoiding you.

Normally the brat would go out of his way to trip you in the hall or make some sly remark about your appearence,but now,he avoided any eye contact and turned in the opposite direction everytime he saw you.

You asked Leo why he had such a sudden change in attitude but whenever you did,he seemed really nervous and would make any exscuse to leave the conversation.So eventually,you dropped the topic.

It was Thursday and since you were finished with studying for your final exam tomorrow afternoon,you and Annabeth were out,eating tacos.

She sat in the booth seat across from you,eating while you messed with the straw in your cup,thinking.

"Whatcha thinking about?Percy"Annabeth teased,catching your attention.As much as you wanted to deny it,she was right.His strange change of attitude has been filling the few moments of your life that you havent crammed with studying and sleep.

You bit your lip and nodded,"He's acting really weird."

Annabeth snorted,"Wow,I didnt think I was right."she finished chewing and swallowed before continuing,"But yeah.That asshole has been really weird lately and so has Leo to an extent."

"He's acted really off since last Sunday.He came by late and pissed off for his lifeguard training but I was ready to go home so I left."you stated,remembering the events.

"So he's throwing a tantrum?"she asked and you shrugged.

"I dont know,its just strange and for some reason,it bothers me."
You knit your eyebrows together in frustration.

Why is he being so angry and secluded?Did he not run his errands completely was that his little issue?But what would that have to do with him being upset towards you?

"Wait",Annabeth said,cutting you from your mental rant,"It bothers you?"

"Yeah...Im not sure why.It just does."you looked at her slightly confused,"Why?"

She smirked,"You like him.Dont you?"she raised a brow and leaned against the table.

"Exscuse me?"you said in shock,"N-no I dont."

She laughed and snorted again,"You totally do!"

"No"you repeated and she rolled her eyes.

"Then why else?"

"What?"

"Why else would you care what was up with him?"she asked but didnt stop talking,"its only because you're starting to worry about the idiot,cause you're starting to like him"

"No and thats final Ann."you said and she sighed.

"Whatever Y/n,but we both know you do."her phone lit up with a text.She read it then she looked back up at you,"My mom needs me home.Something about dad is fixing the stove."she shrugged,"I should go make sure they burn down the house."

You nodded and hugged her before she left.You sat back down in your booth,staring intently at your hands as you thought.

There is no way you like him.You're just...worried about his health as a human.

Right?
