"So, are you and Luke a couple?" I ask Marthe loudly. The music is so loud and I can barely hear myself think.

She shakes her head, "Unfortunately not."

I frown, I really thought they were. I keep catching Marthe staring at him while he plays on the stage.

"But you want to be?" I ask her.

She sighs, "Yeah. We've been friends forever though. It'd be a bit weird."

I smile sympathetically. She likes him a lot and I'm pretty sure he likes her back.

"If it's any consolation he couldn't keep his eyes off of you the other night at their gig."

I couldn't help but notice it. I'm sure everyone else there saw it too.

She chuckles, "Just like Mikey with you right now?"

My eyes widen as I avoid the sudden urge to look behind me.

"Really?"

Marthe nods, "He's staring right at you. He definitely has the hots."

"He can't though! I have a boyfriend. Joe and I are really happy together." I say desperately. I should've known Joe was right. He always is but I don't want to give him the satisfaction by admitting it.

"Don't worry. He won't make a move on you. Michael knows better than that." She assures me when she sees how panicked I am.

"Thank god. I cannot deal with that right now."

Suddenly the music stops and Zoe's voice is booming through the speakers. I turn around to see her on the stage using Calum's microphone.

She grins as she speaks, "Hello everyone and I hope your all enjoying Riley's birthday party. I have a surprise for the birthday girl herself. Riley? Come up here please."

I groan. I don't want to go on the stage. I didn't even care if Zoe was just using this as an excuse to see all her friends I just didn't want too much attention drawn to myself. Who was I kidding though?

I feel a nudge and turn to see Marthe pushing me towards the small stage.

I reluctantly join Zoe under the large spotlight.

"Okay. We have someone special here to see Riley."

I frown. Who the hell could possibly be here? Please, don't let it be my parents.

I hear a drumroll from behind me and turn to see Ashton grinning at me cheekily. He nudges his head back towards the crowd and I turn around just in time to spot Angie pushing through the crowd.

"Angie!" I exclaim as I jump down from the stage and give her a big hug. "You're in the UK!"

She laughs, "Of course I am. I told you I wanted to come. What better time than your birthday?"

I let go of her as I take in her appearance. In disbelief that she is actually here. "I didn't think you would be here so soon. I haven't even been back that long."

She chuckles, "Would you like me to leave and come back in a couple of months?"

"No! I want you to still be here in a couple of months though.." I selfishly say. I know she can't. She has a life back in NZ.

She smirks, "Consider your wish granted."

I can't help but grin from ear to ear.

"Are you serious?" She simply nods in response and I am excited for a moment before a thought occurs to me. "What about Mason?" I ask her.
