;the talk;
— what happened when jungkook left to talk to taehyung in chapters 27-39 •

Jungkook could feel his heart break with every step he takes. his chest tightening as the door to jimin's flat grew further and further. it was like the sun was slowly being ripped off of his sky; it felt dark. but he needed to do this— taehyung needs to know.

his hand graced the wooden stairs, glancing at the older's door one last time before heaving a sigh and took the steps, his hands trembling and his teeth chattering.

he couldn't help but feel bothered. the way sadness enveloped jimin whole haunted him. he could see it in the older's eyes, the way it shined in both fear and insecurity— how his eyes begged him to change his mind and stay by his side.

but he needed to end this.

jimin was hurting and he's pretty much aware of that. and he was hurting too. he never liked seeing the older so dark and blue. he wanted to see jimin smiling, his crescent eyes in full display only for him— directed only towards him.

he could feel his heart shatter, his chest heavy at the thought that jimin feels too small and insecure to even remember that jungkook loves him— that he chose him. though, it made him slightly disappointed at the older. how could jimin ever doubt his feelings for him, how could he when jungkook showered him with everything.

but then again, it's taehyung. his little brother— the biggest hindrance in their love story. the antagonist of their movie and probably the evil stepmom in their very own fairytale. jungkook knew jimin wasn't doubting his love— he was scared of taehyung's capabilities, afraid that he might take jungkook away for the second time.

his thoughts then went astray and lead him to yoongi. he wonders how much worse is yoongi taking all of these right now. because for all he knew, yoongi was the one hurting most of all, but just too stubborn and in love to even think about giving up.

he clasped his hands together, shivering under the cold weather, taking one step at a time and hoping to make the way much longer. he's still not ready to face his best friend after all the things he heard about him. the thought of taehyung doing all those things both saddens and angers him. but most of all, jungkook couldn't help but feel hurt and disappointed.

hurt because how could his best friend do such thing. and disappointed because he had been to stupid and naive to realise that taehyung was pretty much hurting all these years and he didn't even had a clue. jungkook is disappointed in himself. he failed to realise the truth behind taehyung's eyes. he failed to see the scars written all over his stares. he failed at everything— he failed as a best friend.

soon he found himself standing in front of a very familiar cafe, frozen in place as he stares on the glass door, debating whether to proceed or just go back and drown in his boyfriend's warmth.

but he needed to do this.

it didn't take long for him to spot the brunette, heaving a sigh as his heart ached with every step he takes. he didn't notice jungkook, too busy and caught up with his thoughts to even spare his surroundings a glance.

"tae..." jungkook called, making the said boy flinch from his seat before he glanced up to meet his bestfriend's eyes. he smiled almost too immediately, beckoning jungkook to take the seat across from him.
