Herobrine's POV
I remembered when I used to burn people and make them plead for mercy. When my name made children cry. It still does. What if I don't want that to happen anymore? What has happened since Lily?
[FLASHBACK]
She was so scared. I would be to if I were her. First day of school, then black out and appear in a small black room? But then, I'm not her. I am Herobrine. I am not some puny mortal. Let's try her fear limit.
"I will awaken and you cannot escape me forever."
"Who are you?" I like this one. She is so scared but she would never show it.
"You know who I am. You may not want to know. You may want to forget me. I won't let that happen. You will always know me." Now I was being hard. This is how I break people's wits. I don't want that to happen.......wait....WHAT? I curled my lip in disgust. Where did THAT come from? I am Herobrine. I do not FEEL?
[END FLASHBACK]
I remember when I thought it was fun to burn. I remember the cold emptiness that seized me every night in my castle. Those cold nights. How I used to think of her as a pawn. Agony stabbed my heart. I am the reason she is in so much danger. I brought her into all of this. Notch was right. She would be in school right now, not a Hunger Games, because of my compassion. I should've left her alone. It would've even been merciful to kill her right there, in that room. I took her away and made a soldier of her. I made a soldier out of a peacemaker. I can turn anyone and of all those people, it had to be her. I wanted to grow old with her. Those first nights when we were so innocent and I was blissfully unaware of the danger. And I lead her to that bliss. I made her a target. I have turned so many. None of them were like her. They did their purpose and died. Placeholders. She was more then a placeholder.
And now she is gone.
Lily's POV
They were huddled off to the right, probably talking about who would kill me. I dangled upside down by my ankles. Beneath me was stone so that if I tried to escape: a) they would hear me fall; b) I would be either dead or have a concussion to great for me to continue. They weren't very clever if they put me in normal rope. I tried to morph into something small. Small cat. I fell onto my feet and scampered away before they noticed. Then I turned into a monkey and climed up a tree just above their camp. Back into human but with a long, sturdy tail. I hung from the branch by this tail, out of reach, waiting for them to notice me.
"Hey, I don't have all night." I waved at them. Vince turned around.
"Look here b****, you stay still so we can kill you." He did not.......he did.
I morphed into the most ferocious thing I could think of. As I jumped down from the branch, my arms elongated to hairy legs. My feet and hands became paws with claws like daggers. By the time I reached the ground, I was a large, grey-fured wolf. A beast the size of a horse. My tail swished, turning up fallen leaves. My eyes gleamed white at the Tributes. The most terrifying part was not my appearence. It was not my howl. Or my snarl or my growl. It was when I spoke. The worst part of these beasts, to these other people, is that such a menacing, un human creature could speak. It showed intelligence that stunned humans.
"Where is your god now?"
