Jack stayed, just as he promised he would.

And he watched her grow up.

He watched her lock herself in her room, day after day, frozen tears falling down her face.

And he listened as Anna sat on the other side of the door, begging her to come out.

Elsa didn't.

Day after day, he would sit next to her in the frigid room.

Just like her, the cold didn't bother him.

The walls of her room were coated in frost that she couldn't control.

The more she cried, the more the room froze.

He wished there was something he could do for her.

Older and older she got, more and more time passed, and still Jack stayed.

He was always near her, sitting silently and invisibly comforting her.

He didn't know if she could feel it, or if it meant anything to her, but still he did it.

Soon enough, she wasn't a little girl anymore, and a day came where there was much commotion in the palace.

For the first time in many years, he left her side to find out what was going on.

There was talk of the palace gates being opened once again.

Jack had heard they were closed after the first day he found Elsa.

Finally, Jack gathered that today was her coronation.

The day Elsa would become queen. He couldn't help but be excited.

It would be good for her to get out of her room once again, wouldn't it?

Keeping herself bundled up in her sorrow certainly didn't help anything.

And so all day was preparation.

He didn't follow Elsa around all day, as he decided it was best not to sit in on her dress fittings.

He explored the excited kingdom.

Arendelle was it's name.

It was a wonderful place, really.

If it weren't for the gloomy demeanor it had, the way it's gates had been shut and most contact with other kingdoms had been cut off.

The people visiting from other places were all speaking of how mysterious the kingdom was.

Jack began to feel a little nervous for Elsa.

He worried about her ability to control her powers in front of so many people.

He shook his head.

No, he thought, have faith in her.

She can take it.

He could see her bedroom window from where he was, the corners white with frost.

Circling the kingdom once again, he was appalled by the amount of gossip he heard.

Everyone trying to come up with reasons for the closing of the kingdom gates.

He didn't even want to listen to that, so he set off to find Elsa again.

Inside, it was nearly time for the coronation. He hadn't realized how much time he had wasted flying around the kingdom.

As the people filed in, Jack saw Anna for the first time in a long time.

She was grown up, too.

Awkwardly, he slid into an empty seat, as it felt strange to float in the middle of the aisle for the whole ceremony.

As Elsa went through the coronation process, he couldn't help but notice the strange way Anna and Elsa stood farther apart than necessary.

They weren't the friends they used to be.

These lonely years had certainly took their toll on them.

Hopefully after her coronation, Elsa would be out and about more often, and the girls could repair their relationship.

Elsa nervously slipped off her gloves for this portion of the coronation.

Jack's eyes widened and he scooted to the edge of his seat.

Elsa never took her gloves off.

She bit her lip and he noticed the beginnings of frost forming on the objects she was holding.

Not soon enough, the ceremony ended, and she hastily set the objects back down.

Elsa was pronounced Queen, and he could see her be visibly relieved.

She'd made it.

Jack let out a sigh of relief, also.

Great.

Now she just had to make it through the ball.

And Jack would be there with her through the whole thing.

Although Elsa didn't know what the comforting feeling that she'd felt these past few years was, the feeling that made her feel as though she had company when she was entirely alone, she silently hoped it would be with her tonight as she braved the crowds.
