Josiah watched as the dirt spiraled in the rear view mirror, as he drove away. A deep breath he didn't know he was holding in, passed through his lips. Looking to his right, he met the angry gaze of Andrea. She stared at him with vengeance, and her top lip twitch as she tried to control her emotions. Josiah's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, as he looked back at the road. As they reached a stoplight he looked at her again, and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Oh nothing. Just trying to figure out who the hell you think you are feeling up on that heifer?
"Babe I had to do what I had to do so that she wouldn't shoot me."
"But you had to do that in front of me?"
"What? Did you want me to tell you to close your eyes?"
"Like that would have been any better," she retorted before folding her arms across her chest. She winced as pain shot down her arm.

Looking over to her again, Josiah sighed knowing that he would surely be in the doghouse for getting friendly with Alicia, but he didn't think that Andrea would be this upset. He had to figure out a way to stop her from shooting him, and that's the first thing that came to his mind. He knew that Andrea would soon get over it, and he hoped that she would forgive whim for his actions. Andrea sighed and looked out the window. She felt her irritation boil inside of her, but she knew that she couldn't stay mad at him, because he had saved her life twice this evening.

Andrea's train of thought was derailed as she heard Josiah wince in pain. Turning to him, she could see the blood pouring from his wrist. Tearing the hem of her dress, she used the tattered material to wrap his wrist. He gave her a small smile before turning back to the road. She scanned her eyes over his body, and really took in all the abuse he had suffered at the hands of Gavin. His lip was split in the corner, and he had dried blood coming out one of his nostrils. His dress shirt, was covered in her blood, and torn from where he used the material to go on her arm.

While being angry with him, she hadn't realized that he had been through so much. He had been kidnapped, and beaten just because he was dating her. He had a gun pointed in his face several times, and she was the reason before all that. She ran her hand through his disheveled hair, causing him to sneak a peek at him. Running her hand down to his, she kiss his knuckles sweetly. She laid her head back on the headrest, and before long she welcomed the darkness that swarmed in her head.

Josiah looked over at Andrea. At first he thought that she was just resting her eyes for the first time tonight, but then he realized that she sleeping. He looked over at her shoulder, and realized that her arm was leaking more blood than he thought. Quickly stepping on the gas, he maneuvered through traffic heading to the hospital. He rubbed her hand, and whispered sweet words into her ears hoping that she heard them. He looked at her beautiful features, and smiled knowing that she risked her life in order to save his. No one had ever made such a sacrifice, and he would forever be grateful to her.

Speeding into the driveway of the hospital's emergency room, he quickly got out, and scooped Andrea up with whatever energy he had left. He walked through the automatic doors, and to the check in desk. The nurse looked up at him in shock as she called for a stretcher. Seconds later a team of people appeared and took Andrea away from him. As he followed behind them, the blinding lights of the hospital began to obscure his vision. Soon his eyes could only see darkness. The nurse screamed out for more staff as Josiah's body landed with a thud against the linoleum. The blood from his wrists started to coat the floor as he laid spread out across the coolness of the floor.

Three men entered the waiting room, and lifted Josiah onto a stretcher. They quickly wheeled him into a room, and removed the makeshift bandages. As the started to clean him up, the doctor walked in, saw his unconscious body, and asked, "What do we know?"
"Nothing ma'am. He came in with a woman with a GSW to the right shoulder. He has two slit wrists, and multiple lacerations across his face and body," the nurse said after she removed his shirt. The doctor approached them, and touched a purplish black bruise around Josiah's side, and said, "Add a few fractured ribs to that list. What the hell happened to this guy?" She continued to exam Josiah, and before long had him patched up, and put into a room that also occupied Andrea.

Andrea's hair lay in shambles around her head. Her arm was in a sling, and she was no longer in her blood soaked dress. She could feel her body move, but she couldn't get her eyes to open. She could hear the beeping of machine, and knew that she was in the hospital. As her eyes began to open, she instantly shut them back, as the bright white lights blinded her. After blinking slightly a couple of times, she was finally able to adjust her eyes to the light. Looking around the room, she searched for Josiah. Panic began to set in as he was nowhere in sight. Turning her head to the left she saw another bed next to her. Pushing the button to adjust her bed, she sat up and notice Josiah sleeping peacefully in a hospital bed. His lip had a few stitches in them, and a bruise was formed on his cheek.

As she rested her head back, she froze when she heard someone burst through the door. Turning to her left, she saw a police officer enter the room, followed by a man in a tan trench coat, and brown fedora. The police officer walked over to Josiah, and placed a handcuff around his wrist, and cuffed the other end to the bed rail. Andrea shifted her eyes in confusion, before asking, "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"This man is under arrest for possession of firearm, and for shooting you. We found gun shot residue on his hands"
"He had papers for that gun, and he didn't shoot me. I mean he shot me by accident."
"And how exactly did that happen? How did he "accidentally" shoot you?"
"He shot the man who was trying to kill me."
"And where can we find this man," the detective asked rolling his eyes at Andrea. Sighing she began telling him the story of what happened on their long night together. Before she could get half way into the story, the doctor came into the room, and asked the detective, "What are you doing in here? There is sign that says "no visitors" on the door."
"Ma'am we received a report of a gun shot victim here, so we tested the man that came in here with her."
"And by doing that, you illegally obtained that information, because you didn't inform the man of such a test," she said folding her arms across her chest. She turned to Andrea, and stated plainly, "Call your lawyer."
