Chapter 1

I remember my father in the forest with James and I.

I remember James and I training.

I remember running through the woods.

I remember being torn from someone...I don't remember who.

I remember my mother raising me.

I remember the popular girls.

I remember my life.

What I don't remember is how I woke up in this room. I went from the forest talking with my father to this soft purple painted room with lush carpeting and soft bed. My body clothed in a white silk nightgown. A ocean blue-green quilt tucked around me. My skin scrubbed clean from mud and debris.

I stood and felt flowing and light.

I walked to the long mirror across the room and stopped short.

My hair glowed, my skin glowed, my eyes were unnaturally wide and my ears were long and pointed.

A knock came at my door and I jumped but when it opened i saw a tall figure. He was lean and tan with a sharp jaw and angular face. He was a few inches taller than me but just enough to where I had to incline my head up at him. His eyes were forest green and his hair was silver and spiked.

He was the love of my life.

It was my love.

It was James.

I couldn't help but smile as he stepped in.

I felt right at home as I took him in.

Maybe I wasn't so lost after all.

"Hey babe," his voice was hoarse.

"Hey babe," I said my voice soft.

"When did we get here?"

"I was going to ask you the same thing."

We smiled and he closed the door.

I walked over to him and he pulled me close by the waist.

"One night has been way too long," he mused nuzzling my neck.

"Way way too long," I said.

Then our lips met.

Once more I was glad I wasn't in this strange place alone.
