James pulled back and I felt light headed. I was smiling like a goofball and buried my head into the crook of his neck. I started to remember what happened and felt myself start to shake. James rocked me in his arms. A hand clasped my shoulder and I looked into my father's eyes.

Thank you, he said.

For what?

Showing that even though you're different you'll do anything to protect your family. That's true courage and dedication.

No it's called I just did what was right.

James turned my face to his and leaned his forehead on mine. "I love you."

"I love you more," I said pressing my lips against his.

Father cleared his throat and I looked up. "Today was not the best day for celebration but tomorrow will be better. Off to bed!"

Everyone started chattering and fled the hall. I joined them and headed back to my chambers.

An unexpected surprise awaited me on my bed.

"Hello Ro," a  velvet voice cooed.

My mouth fell open and I stood there paralyzed. The person stood and came to stand in front of me. I looked up at them and they cupped my cheek. Tears pricked my eyes. Once my shock wore off I could finally move my mouth to form their name...
