I was dreading going to school today. I got a text from Jonghyun last night saying that today was the day he was going to end it with Siran.
Considering the two were a power couple at school and from the previous rumours everyone is going to blame me for their break up. Well, they aren't wrong this time.
As I entered the school's premises I bit my lower lip nervously as I made my way to class. I just hoped that when the two break up Siran and her group of friends won't try to attack me.
There was no pointing in hoping though because when lunch rolled around I saw Jonghyun walk over to Siran.
Unable to help it I smiled seeing him miss her kisses purposefully. After a few minutes of watching them talk I saw the change in her expression. From hot and seductive to utter shock and hurt.
Just in time I turned away and continued with my lunch but I could hear her shoes clicking and soon enough she was behind me "you! You're the reason he broke up with me right?!" I closed my eyes when she screamed, taking a deep breath I answered calmly "why would you think that?"
"Because he said he doesn't love me anymore! You kissed him the other time so you must've said or done something to him! What did you do?!" Seeing her raising a hand I squeezed my eyes shut but before she could lay a single finger on me someone was in between us.
Opening my eyes slowly I saw Jonghyun holding onto Siran's wrist, successfully stopping her.
"Don't lay a finger on her."
"B-but...but she did something to you! You loved me days before but today...what did she do to you?!"
"Nothing. She didn't do anything." Jonghyun spoke calmly as he let go of her wrist and held onto my hand "I was just stupid before."
"What are you talking about?" She asked with confusion. Shaking his head Jonghyun sighed "I was infatuated with your beauty Siran...I was never in love with you. I was in love with y/n the whole time. I was just stupid not to realise it sooner.
Hearing him I hid behind his back as Siran's facial expression changed into a angry one.
"I'll get my revenge y/n. Watch your back." Despite the anger in her tone I could see the tears trying to escape her eyes before she left.
I looked at him and he smiled "let's go eat lunch somewhere else shall we?"
Jonghyun ended up bringing me to the field, we sat comfortably under a big tree with her back against its large bark "thank you for back there."
"No need to thank me, I told you I'd sort things out between us and get Siran out of the picture and now I'm halfway there." He smiled making you give him a small smile in return.
"Mm you still have a long way for me to trust you again though...it's hard to trust someone again when they've broken it."
You hear him let out a small sigh but you didn't look at him as he spoke "I know...but I promise. I'll make you trust me again and I won't ever break ever again." I felt him press a soft kiss on my temple. Letting out a soft hum as a response I continued with my lunch.
I really hope that one day I could trust him again but then again I was scared. I was scared that once I trust him again he'll break it again; even though he promised he wouldn't but most promises are broken.
