"Ha.....ha....ha!"
Feet beating against the ground. The brush and trees scraping the skin. Sweat trickling down her face.
"I have to..... keep going."
She pants but she continues running. When night turns to day, she keeps running. No looking back now.
Her shoes' soles are broken now. Clothing ripped and in tatters.
"It's.....it's all gonna be worth it.....soon...."
It's been days now. Night and day. There's no difference anymore. It's all a haze.
No time to sleep.
No time to eat.
"Just.....keep....running...."
It's been forever. A shady tree was nearby. It's been forever since she slept or even rested.
It's tempting.
However, she welcomed the rest.
It was a mistake.
Once her eyes were open, she was surrounded with a blade to her throat.
"Look at this! A lonely girlie!" One cackled.
The rest followed suit. One yanked her off the ground and led her away. Outside, she was neutral. Inside, she was in a panicked frenzy.
She was so close!
Last chance.....
She brings her foot to his balls and runs. She knows they're behind her, but she didn't know where she was.
Must I.....die now?
She skids to the ground and falls beneath the underbrush. Rocks, rubble, debris.
I was so close.....
Ground.
Impact.
Red.
