Here it FINALLY is! I'm so so sorry for the wait guys but I wished to thank you all again for your nice words, for your support and for understanding. It really warmed my heart when I needed it the most. I wish I could dedicate this chapter to all of you so let's say I can. Thank you all so much for being here for me all the time. I hope you will like this chapter and I hope there aren't too many typos because it took me forever to write and (stop finding excuses Lea) I didn't have the strength to edit it today. I promise I will do it later.

Thank you all again :)

"Hey Em, how are you doing today?"

"Hey honey, I'm fine. Just a bit stressed because of my History exam tomorrow morning.

Been up all night to study. How's life in Gotham? I miss you so much :( "

"You're gonna kill it, as always ;) Idk how long it'll take until I'll be able to come back to NY, even for a few days cuz I got a lot of work here... I miss you too..."

"I'll take the train to Gotham as soon as I'll be done with my exams...

Can't wait to see you again"

"Can't wait either"

"I gtg I'll call you later"

"Love you Em"

"Love you too"

Kyle closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh he had no idea he had been holding. He threw his phone on the table in front of him and raked his hand in his long blond hair.

Two weeks had passed and the gala was taking place that evening. Kyle knew how risky it was but he was willing to help take that woman and her organization down. He burdened himself with pressure. He was going on a mission for the whole Batfamily and he had no idea which one of them would be the scariest to face if he were to fail.

Fortunately, he wouldn't be alone. He was really glad Jill had accepted to take part in this when Hood had asked her and he was supposed to pick her up at 8pm. Kyle glanced at the black and silver IWC watch Jason had given him for the gala, a watch he had probably permanently borrowed from Bruce, and read 6:57. He sighed. He briefly wondered how much this watch could cost as he observed it for the twentieth time since he had put it on his wrist. Stainless steel, black leather strap, mechanical Swiss movement, date display, platinum big and little hands... The watch was a real masterpiece.

Jason had taken offense when Kyle had told him he didn't have a watch. "How can you not have a watch? Aside from the 'watches give time' thing, watches are an extension of your personality dude. Watches are the most elegant thing you can possibly have. You've got to have at least one dress watch. Jesus, do I really need to teach you everything?" Kyle ended up agreeing with Jason's point and decided he would get himself a watch after the gala. He actually loved the feeling of power this small object was giving him.

Once he was done gazing at the watch, he unconsciously started to tap his fingers against the couch armrest with one hand and scratched Nala's head with his other.

The black dog lifted her head and looked at her owner with her smart brown eyes, ears up and tail wagging happily. Kyle smiled softly at her. "Don't worry girl, everything will be okay." Nala tilted her head to the side, stealing a laugh from Kyle. He scratched her head even harder and she moved it forward, enjoying the feeling of Kyle's fingers between her ears.
