A month and a half later

"Stardust, spread your wings please" James said and the young dragon did so with ease. James quickly measured them before writing it down, Christina watching curiously from her swing.

"What's the size?" Mr. Landers asked as he came out, holding a few drinks.

"One wing is seven feet long and four wide" James said. "He, from snout to the tip of his tail, is 12 feet long, and he in full is ten feet tall"

"He grows fast" Mr. Landers said. James let go of stardust's wings and he folded them in as Christina jumped off the swing.

"He's as big as a horse" Christina cried happily and hugged her dragons neck.

"He should be able to fly" James said. Stardust startled Christina into letting go by spreading his wings, but he flapped before jumping and flying into the air. A sense of pride filled Christina and she cheered him on.

"YEAH, GO STARDUST, YOU CAN DO IT" she shouted and stardust flew higher, flying out of sight. Christina quieted, but as they waited for the dragon to return, Christina frowned. Seconds waiting turned into minutes and she kept her gaze on the sky. "Stardust?"

"Christina, I don't think stardust is gonna come back anytime soon....." James said unsurely.

"N-no, stardust wouldn't just leave" Christina said, but as they waited, a dread began to creep into her heart and clenched her tightly. Christina startled the adults by falling to her knees and beginning to cry. "Come back stardust! Come back, I don't want you to leave me!"

"Oh Christina" James said quietly and walked over to the sobbing girl, hugging her tightly. She hugged back, crying into his shoulder. He rubbed her back and Mr. Landers frowned.

"Think on the bright side, summer is in two more weeks" Mrs. Landers called from the door, but even she was upset by the young dragon flying off.

"Wh-why did you leave me stardust!?" Christina cried loudly as thunder boomed.

"It's gonna storm, please be safe stardust" Me. Landers whispered as they all went inside.

Little did they know, someone was watching with guilt and pain.
