Poe Dameron was kneeling on the ground, scrubbing at a spot of oil on his droid's side. He sighed and shook his head as the dark smeared on the small ball's white and orange surface.

"Sorry, buddy," he said. "I'll be more careful next time, okay?"

BB8 beeped with an obvious hint of annoyance.

Poe smirked. "Hey, now... maybe you shouldn't roll under the ship while it's getting prepped."

BB8 beeped again. Poe chuckled and finished wiping the droid. As he scrubbed off the last bit, BB8 let out two soft chirping noises, making the dark haired man turn his head to glance at his left.

His heart took a leap in his chest. He felt his cheeks flush and his legs grow weak under him as he saw you standing several feet away, eyes glimmering with happiness. He felt a grin stretch his lips. He bit down on his bottom lip to keep from being too obvious.

It had been a few days since he had seen you, and they were torturous. You had been away on a mission for General Leia, your aunt, and Poe had missed you more than he could possibly say.

You weren't aware of his feelings. In fact, no one was. BB8 could only guess so much before Poe would shut down the accusations.

You spotted Poe and gave him a quick salute. He returned the gesture and chuckled under his breath. You stood there for a moment, caught in a gaze that only you and Poe could understand.

Your trance was broken when General Leia touched your arm and began speaking to you. Poe frowned slightly, but didn't look away, even as you walked away with your aunt, your arm hooked with hers.

"Hey, pal," said a short, gruff voice.

Poe turned his head to the right. He immediately saw the always young eyes of Han Solo. Although the man was far older, with grey hair and wrinkled skin, he still walked with the same danger in his steps.

Han Solo made a fist around Poe's vest. BB8 beeped madly. Poe held up a hand to silence the droid. He was only slightly nervous when the man began to speak.

"You keep your eyes off of ___," he said. "With her father being Force knows where, it's my job to keep the boys away."

Poe turned red. "I-I don't-"

"No, I know that look in your eyes," Han said, a smirk on his lips. "Had the same look once myself." He glanced at Leia, who stood with her back to him, a glimmer of love in his eyes. "But it'll only get you in trouble, kid. Believe me. They're more trouble than they're worth."

He dropped Poe. Poe licked his lips nervously and brushed down the front of his vest.

"You don't really believe that."

"Oh, I do."

"With all due respect, sir," Poe said, "___... she is worth it."

Han smiled. "That she is," he said, eyes raking over Poe with a sense of satisfaction. Then, he jabbed a finger at the man again. "But stay away!"

Poe opened his mouth to speak, but no sound came out. Han chuckled and turned away. As he walked off, Poe glanced back at you. He couldn't help but smile again.

BB8 chirped.

Poe chuckled. "Hm. You're right, buddy. Let's hope the Force is with me today."

He stepped over the droid and began walking towards you. He ignored all of your uncle's warnings as he caught your eye and threw a signature smirk.

You would be worth the trouble.
