Connor pushed open the double doors that led to the main hallway of his high school. It was near November and some idiot in the PTA had decorated the whole school with turkeys, pilgrims, corn, and cheesy Thanksgiving puns. Just the thought of the holiday made Connor sick. He had nothing to be thankful for. Sure he had a family, but was he really thankful for the mother that watched him too closely, then stopped caring about his health? Was he supposed to be thankful for the father that forgot he was part of the family? And what about his ever-so-successful sister that made him feel like a failure?

Connor slumped his shoulders and made his way to his locker - #642. It was far away from most of the teachers which meant he could hide his deepest secrets there. As he neared the locker, he saw an unfamiliar figure. Curious, Connor jogged to his locker. What was the kid doing? Could he see what was inside?

"Hey!" Connor yelled "what are you doing?" The kid jumped up and spun his head around. Connor ran up to him and realized that he knew him from somewhere. History. Sixth period. What was his name again? Eve? Ever? Vango? Something like that.

"What do you want Vango?"
