"Lindsay come on! I've been waiting down here for ten minutes. We're going to be late for school cmon we've finals!" Melony groans and I shake my head.
"Coming!" I shout back as I throw my hair up into a ponytail.
On my way out I bump into my older brother, Luke. He's twenty and is finished college for the summer. He came back three days ago.
"Best of luck today. Don't fail." He winks, practically mocking me. I roll my eyes at him and quietly thank him.
My younger brother Liam has already left on the bus for school, he's twelve so he's not even in high school yet.
"Finally. You're not having breakfast are you? School starts in thirty minutes and it's already in the rush hour for traffic." Melony groans at me and I chuckle lightly at her.
"Chill I'll just down some coffee to keep me awake for the day. Want one?" I ask her and she shakes her head. I switch on the kettle and get a travel mug out.
My mom comes practically sprinting into the kitchen and zooms past me. She grabs her handbag from the counter and rummages through it. She pulls out papers and begins reading through them.
Luke decides to also come into the kitchen, shirtless, making Melony uncomfortable. She's always had this weird thing for him and I really don't know why. Probably just a typical crush, nothing mad.
The kettle boils and I pour the boiling water into the travel mug. I stir it and add a spoon of sugar. I put the lid on and tighten it.
I sling my bag over my shoulder and fix the straps.
"Okay let's go. Bye Maria, bye Luke." Melony says goodbye to my mom and my brother.
"Bye guys." Luke says to us both.
"Bye hunny best of luck." My mom says and I thank her. "And bye Melony, hopefully you'll pass everything this year." Mom lightly jokes and we say our goodbyes and leave.

It's lunch period and Melony and I are sitting at our table with two of our friends, Kendall and Paisley.
We're all in the middle of a conversation about the math exam we just sat and suddenly two girls come up to our table. One of them coughs to get our attention.
"Can we help you?" Paisley asks, in a rather annoyed tone.
"Uhm we just wanted to talk to Lindsay." One of them tells us and we all sit there, looking at them both. "Um, alone." The girl also adds and I get the hint. I stand up and leave the table with the two strange girls.
We go to the girls toilets since apparently the conversation isn't to be heard by my friends or anyone else.
"So, what's up?" I ask and one of the girls begins to speak but I actually stop her. "Wait, what your names?" I quiz and one of the girls' eyes widen.
"You don't know her?" She asks, pointing to the girl beside her and I shake my head. "Oh well uhm I'm Layla Shapiro and this is Tamara Reeds." She tells me.
"Okay? Carry on." I sit myself onto the counter where the sinks are.
"So anyways, I thought you would've known who Tamara is. The story is to do with her and someone you seem to be too close with." Layla scoffs and I nod my head, not really knowing what they're on about. "Anyways so, Tamara and Shawn used to pretty much date since Tamara is originally from Pickering. She grew up with Shawn. She's moving back to Pickering with her family and I'm staying with them for the Summer. Apparently Shawn is back in Pickering and we just want to make it clear that you're to go no where near Shawn okay? Or there will be trouble." Layla evilly smirks and I roll my eyes at her.
"Please if you think you're stopping me from seeing him you can think again. Who's to say anything romantic is going to happen between Shawn and I anyways. He's my friend." I shrug and it's Tamara and Layla's turn to roll their eyes.
"Just stay away. Okay?" Tamara snaps and I shake my head.
"No promises." I smirk and make my way out of the toilets.
Just what I need for the summer. Drama. As if they'll stop me from seeing Shawn anyways.
