Soccer day

Selena's POV

After Ray leaves I went back inside and everyone is acting so good, letting me know my new "friend" was a nice and kind person.

Mom: "Those scars on his face still scare me though."

Me: "Mom Ray told you what happened!"

Mom: "Okay, okay I didn't say anything."

Emma : "Selly is he your boyfriend?"

I turn red and throw my eyes at dad who gives me a "he gotcha" look.

Me: "Of course not! He's my only friend here! Don't be such an idiot girl Emma!"

Did I overreact? Oh 😅

Anyway we all go to sleep and I'm awkwardly happy because we had such a great time together.

But Zoe and the fact that Ray ended up in the hospital was all my fault.

Ray's POV

Saturday morning. It's the best thing for me. I don't have to study for tomorrow and the most important, I don't have to wake up early.

I go to bathroom, I take a quick shower and say hi to my family.

Dad: "How did you sleep son?"

Me: "Good dad, what about you?"

Dad: "It was fine. Where were you last night? You didn't even eat dinner with us."

I'm a little surprised because no one asks me what did I do or where will I go, I have my freedom.

Me: "I was invited for dinner at a friend's house."

Dad: "Who?"

Me: "It's Selena. She's new. Moved here from Bradford."

Dad: "Son I'm sorry to tell but with a face like that, you'd never have dinner at a girl's house."

I smirk in a funny way.

Dad: "I'm just kidding I know you enjoyed it."

I eat breakfast and I get out of the house to see what's happening.

My neighborhood is full of young people. Mostly my age so when I get out of the house there's always somebody I can chill or play some ball with.

I see Tyrell and Luke playing cards.

They wave at me "Hey Ray what's up man?"

Me: "Good guys how's it hanging?"

Tyrell: "Hey we are going to play football today at 5PM. You wanna come?"

Me: "Well I don't have any plans for today. I think I might coma but if something comes up, you know."

Luke: "I feel you man. We'll talk."

I get a call from Aubrey. Aubrey is an old friend of mine. We were neighbors but she moved to another neighborhood so we don't see each other that much now. She's the crazy, joyful and the girl who can keep secrets. Good friend!

Me: "Hey Aubrey how are you?"

Aubrey: "Tell me who is she?"

Me: "Wait, come again."

Aubrey: "I met Edward yesterday and he told me you got a new girlfriend."

Me: "Oh my God Edward. Yeah, it's Selena."

Aubrey: "Cute name, I wanna meet her!"

Me: "Hey hey chillax girl. Okay yeah I'll introduce her to all you guys but give her some time, she just moved here."

Aubrey: "Okay okay. How've you been Ray?"

Me: "Let's say fine what about you?"

Aubrey: "Exams but I'm not that stressed, I'll do good."

Me: "I'm pretty sure you will. Hey, I'm playing some ball today, would you like to come and see me?"

Aubrey: "Nah, of course not."

Me: "Selena is going to be there."

Aubrey: "What time?"

I'm glad I'm going to meet Aubrey. She bring such a joy in the atmosphere. It's always good to be around people like her.

I give a call to Selena to see how's she doing.

Me: "Morning love!"

Selena: "Morning honey, how are you?"

Me: "I'm good. Look. Here's the thing. I'll play football today at 5PM and my friend Aubrey is going to be there and she wants to meet you. What do you say?"

Selena's POV

I'm so excited to see him play but there's one thing that doesn't add up.

"Wait, you can't play. You're injured."

Ray: "Nah, it's not that serious, I can play."

Me: "Okay you know best. Sure I'll come. Yeah"

Ray: "Great. Pick you up at 4:15PM love."

Me: "See you!"

Dad: "Who was that?"

I don't say anything. I'm a little embarrassed because Ray's name has been something to talk about the last four days.

Me: "It's Emily..." I lie "... she asked me if I'd like to go with her to watch football."

Dad: "Okay, football's good. Just be careful."

I'm a little excited. I've never been this much interested in football. I don't like football but knowing that Ray is going to play, Girl , you gonna have to like it.
