TWO WEEKS LATER

Kylie knew that ever since she and Ruru had gotten together, it was the latter who had always been so expressive both in words and in actions.

Despite all the emotional thank you's, the hugs and the kisses coming from her side, Kylie felt like taking things up a notch by surprising Ruru on Fathers' Day.

Yes, he wasn't the biological father of her child, but Kylie knew that in one way or another, he was still going to be involved in her son's life, so she might as well make him feel like it.

So with the help of Ruru's mom and his sisters, Rere and Rara, Kylie organized an intimate dinner at a garden restaurant just a few blocks away from his condo unit.

Ruru knew nothing about this, which had made the entire situation all the more exciting.

Once everything was set, the Madrids had left and Kylie waited in her seat nervously. This was the first time that she was going out of her way just to surprise a boy and she both hoped and prayed that he'd like it.

"He deserves it." Kylie thought, as she looked towards the door, hoping that in just a few seconds, Ruru was going to walk through it... and he did.

For the first time in a long time, Kylie sat there with her mouth agape, obviously stunned at how handsome Ruru looked tonight.

He was wearing a crisp, white button down, with its sleeves rolled up to his elbows, black slacks and black loafers to finish up his debonair look.

And not to mention, Kylie digged his short hair.

"So, ikaw pala yung director na gustong makipag-meet sa akin ha." Ruru flashed his bedimpled smile as he walked towards her, automatically greeting her with a peck on the lips.

"Well, it's a surprise, after all." Kylie smiled, caressing his face gently. "Bakit ba ayos na ayos ka?"

"Eh sinabi sa akin ni mommy na dapat mag-ayos daw ako eh. Sikat kasi yung director na makikipag-meet sa akin. Nakakahiya naman kung mukhang akong kanto boy." Ruru joked. "Pero... ano 'to? Bakit may ganito? Nahihiya tuloy ako." He added as blood slowly rushed up to his cheeks, causing them to look a lot pinker than usual.

"I know it's Father's Day and I know you're not a father, but..." Kylie started. "Just take this as my way of saying thank you and I love you." She added.

"Alam ko na parati nalang akong nag-thathank you sa'yo, na parati nalang akong nag-eemote, but I guess, with you, I'll never run out of words to say. You've been such a blessing to me and I can't thank you enough for all that you've done for me and the baby."

"Kahit na hindi ikaw ang ama niya, I will make sure that he gets know you as his second dad. Well that's if... gusto mo rin."

Ruru smiled.

"Siyempre naman. Bakit hindi?" He replied.

"I'm just making sure." Kylie smiled. "I mean, I really want you to be a part of his life. Si Aljur nga ang biological father niya, but that doesn't mean that you're out of the picture because I will make sure that my son will love you just as much as I do."

Ruru nodded.

"Thank you, Ky. Ang laking bagay din para sa 'kin na gusto mo kong maging parte ng buhay ng anak mo." He said. "At kahit na si Aljur ang totoong tatay niya, tratratuhin ko pa rin siya bilang anak ko... anak natin."

Kylie couldn't help but tear up as she wrapped her arms around Ruru's neck. How could she be blessed with a man who wasn't only handsome on the inside but on the outside as well? He was truly a gem to her, and there was no way, that she was letting him go.

"O, bakit naiiyak ka? Alam mo namang nasasaktan ako sa tuwing nakikita kitang umiiyak di ba." Ruru said gently, as wiped the tears that had fallen from Kylie's eyes.

"I'm shedding happy tears, don't worry." The latter laughed. "Hindi ko lang talaga alam kung anung kabutihan ang ginawa ko to deserve someone like you. I mean, things started off pretty complicated between the both of us, what with Gabbi and Aljur and this pregnancy, but we still managed to pull this off. Tayo pa rin... kahit pa tayo officially." She added.

"Ganun naman talaga kapag true love eh." Ruru smiled. "Kahit na anung unos, anung balakid pa 'yan, tayo pa rin hanggang sa huli."

"Hanggang sa huli?" Kylie said.

"Hanggang sa huli."

In that moment of assurance, Ruru leaned in to meet Kylie's lips. He didn't care if there were two waitresses watching, for all that really mattered right now was him and her and the fact that they were madly in love with each other despite the circumstances.

The kiss had been filled with so much passion as Ruru and Kylie moved in synchronization, but just as the former was about to deepen the kiss even more, he felt something wet land on his loafers, causing him to abruptly end their romantic moment.

Ruru looked into Kylie's eyes and she simply replied.

"I think my water broke..."
