The Girl Next Door <33

Chapter 2

"Are you just going to stand there all day starring at my hotness or are you actually going to drive us to school?" Sam asked in a smug tone of voice.

I guess he caught me staring. Blushing from head to toe, I unlocked the car and got in and so did Sam chuckling to himself. I drove off my drive keeping my eyes on the road not risking a look at Sam's face. After 5 minutes of silence I couldn't bare the awkwardness so I turned to look at him and I caught him looking at me. A look so intense that I couldn't even describe it, was it love I saw in his eyes? No. No it couldn't be. Why would Sam be looking at me like that? I mean Sam doesn't feel the same way about me. As far as his concerned I'm just the girl from next door. When I looked back at him, he was staring out of the window pretending that I wasn't even here. I don't get him sometimes. I mean sometimes he acts like he barely even knows me and then other times he acts like the best friend I know and love. It's like his distancing himself from me but that won't really work considering I live next door to him.

When we finally got to school we both just sat there in the car waiting. Waiting for what I don't know. Maybe I was waiting for Sam to say he loves me the way I love him. Ok maybe I wasn't for that because it isn't going to happen anytime soon but you know a girl can dream. Besides I wasn't the only one waiting. Sam was sitting there next to me waiting too. For what I don't know. I can usually read him like a book but lately things have been different between us.

Then out of the blue he chuckled which then turned to a deep husky laugh. I turned to him, eyebrows raised in a WTH face. He looked at me then chuckled again.

"Do you remember the time we had that massive food fight in your kitchen?" he began chuckling again to himself.

I couldn't help but giggle at the memory, "Yeah when we were supposed to be making - "

"-cookies and I threw an egg at you and then you grabbed - "

"-a fistful of flour and threw it at you but you ducked -"

"-and at that exact moment your mom walked in and you hit her straight in her face!!"

We both burst out laughing remembering my mom's face covered in flour. We were laughing so hard we were crying.

See this is the Sam that I love the one that has always been there for me. You see I'm an only child and my mom and dad are always away on "business trips" so I practically grew up with him and over the years we have had so many good memories! Like the time we thought it would be fun to make the spiral staircase into a slide. We both grabbed two mattresses from the guest rooms and I had just raced down to the bottom in 49 seconds which was pretty amazing if I say so myself. Sam was racing down the stairs trying to beat my time but he didn't notice Maria, the head housekeeper, was walking past with all the clean sheets at that exact moment. He tried to stop but he was just going so fast and he collided straight into Maria sending her and ten million sheets flying all over the floor.

Giggling at the memory I turned to Sam about to share the memory when I caught him starring at me again. I blushed and turned away but his hand caught my chin in a firm but gentle grip. I had no choice but to look into his green eyes and I felt like I could see straight through to his soul and he could see mine. I was lost in his emerald gaze and I couldn't help but lean towards him. He copied my movement tilting his head to the side. Our faces were so close that I could smell his minty breath. My lips were so close to his that they were almost brushing. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and leaned in __

__ Tap Tap!

Me and Sam broke apart as quick as lightening and turned to the right only to find HER standing at Sam's window.
