Chapter 23

No sooner had the door shut did Grace start shouting.

"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT SAM?!!!"

How was I suppose to answer? I mean I really didn't know what that was I was just so-

"SAM!!"

I could hear the pleading in her voice but I just couldn't answer her.

"SAM LOOK AT ME!!!" She shouted grabbing my face but doubling over as the pain of moving so fast was written clearly all over her face.

Pain that I has caused her.

I would give anything to take her pain away but right now I will have to settle with easing her pain. So I gently scooped her up into my arms bridal style as I gently sat

her down on top of the nearest desk.

I whispered over and over again how sorry I was but I still felt like complete shit for hurting her.

"I can't believe I hurt you...." I whispered my voice full of shame and guilt.

"I'm fine Sam"

"No. No you're not Grace!" I said backing away "You're hurting because of me!"

"Sam I don't care about that! All I care about is you and what happened out there!"

Turning back to face her I shouldn't, "Well you shouldn't! I HIT you Grace and I'm so sorry Grace!

"Sam, please STOP! I have known you all my life and you have never ever once hit me ok!!!" She said gently.

"I'm fine, I promise and I forgive you! I mean it's not like you did it on purpose right?" She joked smiling slightly. I couldn't believe that after everything I had done, I

mean I hit her and she was still smiling and joking I didn't deserve her. She must have seen the sadness written on my face because she took my face softly between her hands.

"Sam please stop just talk to me. Please."

"I can't!"

"What do you mean you can't?"

"I just CAN'T!" "
