Rue
I wake up to a very cloudy day. I silently slip out of bed, Not wanting to wake my sisters. I brush my hair and then put on a nice yellow dress.
"Rue" I look and see Catherine my 9 year old sister.
" I'm scared."
"why"
"your in the reaping."
"I'll be fine" I say. Mary wakes up. She is 11. Like Catherine she knows about the hunger games and the reapings. Henry, Kami and Lily don't know. Henry is 5, Kami is 7 (We will tell her next year) and Lily is 3. Our mom Oko is making us breakfast. My dad Dex is sitting down. I eat breakfast and go find Rose and Maple. I find Rose in the orchards we quickly leave. I find Maple. in her house sitting next to her sister Ella. Ella has a bad cold. She is sleeping now and Maple leaves. We walk around town talking about the hunger games. I don't want to be chosen. At 2:00 we go to the square and we are in a group of 12 year olds in the back. I don't pay attention to the video as it's playing. Mara our escort picks a slip.
"Rue Tree" I walk up wanting to cry.
"Thresh Pont" A big guy walks up.
"the 74th hunger games tributes" Mara says.
