"Please telling me you are coming!"
"The plane gets in at seven. You are picking us up right?'
"Yeah I'll be there. Jay has class till eight so that is perfect."
"I can't believe you are asking her to marry you..."
"Chad give me the phone!" I hear Ellie shout in the background.
"Is Elle with you now?"
"Yeah I'm just picking her up." Chad says, "Ugh! Here! She wants to talk to you."
"Hey Elle."
"Junior! So you are going to do it? You are really going to ask Jay to marry you?"
"Yep I have the ring. I asked her dad. I'm not expecting us to get married tomorrow or anything but I want to show her that I'm not going anywhere."
"I'm so excited for you! I'll give the phone back to Chad. I love you Junior I'll see you soon."
"Love you too Elle."
"What about me?" Chad whines.
"If you have to ask you don't know me very well mate."
"Whatever." I can picture Chad rolling his eyes, "we will see you when we land."
We say our goodbyes and hang up and I flop back on the couch. I blew off my classes today, I know I'll pay for that later but who cares. I worked full time as a mechanic last year before I auditioned and got in the music composition course at the Queensland Conservatorium. I love the course it is great but I swear it is more work than working full-time, plus add the fact that I still work at the garage on the weekends. Jayleigh's course load is massive but that is to be expected she is a nerd after all.
I smile at the note she left me this morning.
I love you. I hope your not late for class. Have a great day. Love your girl, Jay.
I know she is my girl. The thing about Jay is she doesn't realise how awesome she is. She probably never will. It has been like that the whole way through high school. I love her. I'm pretty sure I loved her the moment I met her.

Four Years and Six Months Ago
I let Oscar off his lead as soon as I enter the dog park. I notice one other dog running around. I look over to the bench and spot a girl, she is seriously gorgeous. Her blonde hair is a mess all over her head but messy suits her.
"It seems Oscar likes your dog," I say as I approach her. She looks up her eyes wide as though she is shocked that I'm talking to her.
"Her name is Bella and yeah, I guess she likes Oscar back." She says quietly and I notice her cheeks turn red.
"I'm Junior Patterson," I say holding my hand out to her.
She shakes my hand gently,"Um...Jay, I'm Jayleigh Whitmore." Her voice is beautiful.
I sit down next to her trying not to be to obvious as I take in everything about her.
We sit in silence for a while watching Bella and Oscar play.
"It is really good they are getting along. We're new in town." I say trying desperately to start a conversation. I want to hear her voice again.
"Really?" Jay clarifies turning to face me and I notice her bright blue eyes. "I didn't think I had seen you before."
"Yeah, just moved into number '30' Charlotte Place."
