You have been in love with Edward Cullen for so long, it feels as if your love for him is something that has been a part of you forever. And now, after all this time, you are forced to watch him be happy with someone else, someone that is not you.
Nearly two years ago, Edward met and fell in love with a human girl named Bella Swan. She turned out to be the mate he had been looking for all of those years. They had been through so much together: separation, almost losing each other, a wedding, and the birth of a daughter, young Renesmee. They even managed to scare off the Volturi, which is not an easy task.
The point is that Edward barely notices you these days, and it drives you insane. As much as you hate it, you can't help sometimes wishing that Bella and Renesmee had never existed, that you could just have Edward all to yourself.
Now you watch as they say goodbye to all of the vampires from across the globe who came to help Edward and Bella in keeping their daughter safe from the Volturi. Everything just seems...happy. A little too happy for your taste, to be honest.
"Y/N?"
You snap out of your thoughts, and realize that Edward is standing next to you.
"Edward!" You give him a smile. "Hi."
"Hi." He smiles back. "Are you all right? You seemed pretty far away there."
"What, me? Oh, I'm fine," you say. "So, what's up?"
"I thought you might want to come say goodbye to the others. Everyone's leaving."
"Oh. Right." You nod. "Yeah, I'll be over in a minute."
"Okay, then."
You take a moment to watch Edward with Bella and Renesmee, and now that wolf Jacob Black has been drawn into it. One perfect little family. The thought of it makes you sick.
But you still walk over, forcing a smile and pretending everything is just fine.
