I just want to say thank you so much for all the reads and votes and comments ma sha Allah; I wish you knew how happy I get when I see these comments and people adding it to their reading lists like, "oh, this book looks okay"

I might be saying, "oh thanks for adding it!"

But I'm feeling like, "KCKWOFMSOMEOMENOTICEDITTJANKYOUSOMUC"

{the flying thoughts}

"What's this?" Teyze Fatma held up an elegant looking envelope with a red seal. Nesrin looked up from staring at a page of facts which registered nothing in her brain. She needed to study for the wave of exams to attack her in the coming days. However. her mind was occupied with other things.

Other things she wished she could ignore.

She reached for it and took it, broke open the seal and took out the letter.

I hope this letter finds you well.

As a thank you for catering the party, I am using my personal invite to welcome you to the gathering that will take place at the lakeside mansion in the address enclosed, at 8:00pm.

Nesrin looked up. "Maybe there's a girl who likes Nazım," she said.

Teyze Fatma took the letter and started rapidly reading through it, more to herself in a hushed whisper. She looked at Nesrin with piercing eyes. "Is this what his job was? Talking to some girl?"

"No, no, look!" Nesrin stood up and by her aunt, pointing at the word 'cater'. "She's just thanking him for catering the party."

"That's strange. When I was growing up, you thanked a job well done through money, not through personal invites to a party." Teyze Fatma huffed. "I doubt my sister will appreciate her son messing around with a lady!"

Nesrin bit her lip and took back the invitation. "I can go with him if you want," she suggested.

"By all means," Teyze agreed. "If Nazım does go, I want you to go with him to keep an eye on him. When is it?"

"Cuma." Nesrin answered.

"Friday evening, hmm. Alright, fine, but if anything happens--"

"Nothing will happen, it's just a boring party with really good food."

On that Friday evening, Nesrin had already prepared her clothes for the party. Teyze Fatma had given Nazım one of her husband's old tuxes to wear. He was somewhat well rested for once, and it was easy tell by how relaxed his face looked.

But he looked more relaxed than bored.

"Tell me why I have to go again?" Nazım yawned, and stretched. He looked in the mirror, pleasantly surprised at how mature his uncle's tux made him look. Or maybe that was just him. His mind was still a little fuzzy from having slept for so long, in so long.

"Did you forget you had a catering job?" Nesrin asked as she put in her earrings beside him in the mirror. "Does sleep just make you forget everything all of a sudden?"
