Jin hit his locker. The combination wasn't working and he only had a minute to get to his class on the other side of the school. "Oh crap why now!?" He muttered to himself. He hadn't realized that his knuckles were bleeding from how hard he hit the cold metal.

Oh no... He thought as he saw Namjoon round the corner. I'm a mess, he'll laugh at me!

Jin had gotten up late that morning and had barely had time to get ready. His uniform tie wasn't tied and his hair had been combed halfheartedly and he was sure it was an absolute mess.

"Ugh!" He groaned quietly to himself. He was gonna be late to class and get a demerit. He had Never gotten a demerit in his life, but everything was going wrong this morning, so he was sure he would get one.

Namjoon stopped at his locker and punched Jin's arm slightly.

"What's your combination?" He asked, looking at the lock.

"3 6 3 9." Jin answered tiredly, pushing his hand through his hair.

Namjoon easily unlocked the locker and Jin's eyes widened in amazement.

"Oh god, thank you so much."

"No problem dork." Namjoon laughed.

Jin wasn't expecting it to be so bad when Namjoon grabbed his wrist and said that he was bleeding, but in fact, his knuckles almost looked as if they had been sandpapered.

"What the..." Jin din't think that hitting his locker could cause so much damage to his hand.

"You need to get that cleaned off." Namjoon said. He grabbed the books from Jin's locker and tucked them under his arm before shutting it and dragging Jin along to the nurse.

She cleaned his hand off and wrapped it up a little bit, and to Jin's surprise, Namjoon stayed with him the whole time.

"Oh gosh, Namjoon, we're both gonna get demerits now." He said.

He felt awful that Namjoon was going to get in trouble on his account.

"I'm sorry..."

Namjoon brushed it off though.

"Eh, so what?"

He had always been so carefree, even rebellious at times and it made Jin's stomach erupt with butterflies. Why do you do this to me?

"Ok."

They walked to class together and were immediately questioned by their teacher.

"Seokjin, Namjoon, what is your explanation for missing almost half of the class?" He asked.

Jin shyly held up his hurt hand.

"I had to go to the nurse, Namjoon took me."

"Sit down." Gyeong Seonsaengnim said.

Jin and Namjoon quickly obeyed and sat down at their desks.

He had never come in late before, but doing it made his skin crawl. Walking in the door and having every single pair of eyes in the room focused on him. Fortunately,  Namjoon had been there with him. He didn't think he would have survived had he not been with Namjoon, the embarrassment would have been too great.

With Jin's luck today, he wouldn't have been able to say that he went to the nurse, or speak at all probably. But knowing that Namjoon would get another demerit had he not done something, forced him to speak.

"Kim Seokjin." Gyeong Seonsaengnim snapped.

Jin shook his thoughts away and looked up.

"Yes?" He asked quietly.

"Pay attention please."

Jin bowed his head slightly. "Yes Gyeong Seonsaengnim."

He fought to pay attention even though his mind kept wandering. He felt a note slip into his hand (which was down my his side) and jumped slightly, glancing in the direction it had come from.

Namjoon.

He discretely opened it.

괜찮아? (you ok?)

네 (yes.)

he passed the note back and heard a soft sigh from Namjoon as he read it.

"Is there something you would like to share with the class Kim Namjoon-ssi?" Gyeong Seonsaengnim asked, succeeding in startling Jin.

Jin's head snapped over to Namjoon as he slowly looked up and shook his head. The note was snatched from his hand and opened before being thrown into the trash.

Namjoon rested his elbows on the desk and put his head on his hands.

Oh no what was on that paper???  Aish!

~

Jin wanted to ask Namjoon what had been on that paper during lunch, but instead, he decided to eat outside. It was raining, so he sat slightly under the overhang of the roof and ate as he watched as the droplets of rain fell.

Everything was silent.

He didn't notice it when Namjoon sat down about a foot away.

"Seokjin?" Namjoon said.

Jin jumped and flinched hard.

"Aishhh! Namjoon you scared me!"

Namjoon snickered. "Mianhae."

Jin shook his head, laughing quietly.

"I swear, you look for everything possible to give me a heart attack."

Namjoon smiled and shook his head. "Nahhh."

Jin looked at him.

just tell him Jin.... it would make everything easier!!!!
Or you might lose your best friend.... best friend since childhood...

They sat in silence until the bell ring and when Jin looked at Namjoon, he could have sworn that he saw a twinge of regret in his eyes.

"Better get to class." He said quietly.

"Yeah."
