Jin's heart was pounding as he ran up to Namjoon, who had been seemingly ignoring him the whole week... or ever since their late night excursion to the river.

"Namjoon!" He exclaimed, out of breath from having run around the whole school to find him.

Namjoon tilted his head. "I'm sorry, do I know you?"

"Namjoon quit playing with me... I'm your best friend, Kim Seokjin."

"K-Kim Seokjin? Never heard the name before in my life..." He said, stuttering at first.

"B-but Namjoon-"

"I don't know who you are."

And with that, he walked past him, bumping his shoulder as if he had only been in his way throughout the whole heartbreaking conversation. Jin spun around and watched him leave. He was numb, he couldn't feel anything.

He knew it had been a mistake. Namjoon didn't really love him as he said at the river. It had all been a game. How long had he known? How long had their friendship just been a game of Namjoon stringing him along?

Jin gulped and walked to his first class, where he would have to see Namjoon... but he never showed up. And from the chatter Jin heard in the halls at the end of the day, he didn't show up for any of his other classes either.

Walking alone felt so wrong. He had his mind set on going home, but his heart and feet led him somewhere different. Back to the river. Back to the spot they had spent the night. He sat down, curling his knees to his chest and resting his chin on his arms, staring blankly at the river.

Everything in him wanted to jump into it. It was rough enough water that it would drag him downstream into what he assumed would be rapids. No one would ever find him. Nobody would even care to look as far as he knew.

Give it a week. Namjoon was probably playing.

So Jin didn't succumb to his self-destructive impulses. He would give it one week.
