Maybe Lauren should've heeded Dinah's advice.
Maybe she should've given Camila the time she needed to process and work through al the disruptive thoughts in her head.
But her girlfriend's last words rang in her head like Sunday church bells and they weren't quieting any time soon. She needed to chase after Camila.
She needed to do it now.
And so she did, shrugging off Dinah's hand on her shoulder, she darted for the door and ran to see the elevator travelling to the ground level. Odds are; she would probably be too late to get down there, but she had to catch Camila before she did something reckless that could ruin everything they had.
Lauren knew the feelings of self-destruct all too much. Camila wanted those around her to hate her so it would make it easier for her to hate herself and no way was Lauren going to condone that behaviour. She wasn't going to promote that mentality and have Camila living with regrets for the things she had done whilst not sound of mind.
Lauren opted for the stairs and internally cursed the fact that chosen to house themselves at the very top of the building, nevertheless she began her descent, halfway down nearly loosing her footing as she raced down but was quick to right herself only to continue at the same pace.
Lucy, on the other hand, was still perched sort of uncomfortably in her hospital bed, though the cuffs had been taken off and a pair of police officers stood at ready to take down her every word. She'd finally been allowed to give them her statement and she knew damn well it had everything to do with Vero insisting that she be rid of those handcuffs. Lucy swore her girlfriend was perfection personified.
So as Vero stood beside her bed to the left with her arm crossed over her chest and an unimpressed look aimed at the two officers who stood to the right of her bed, Lucy gave them the best recap she could surmise of the events of the early hours of the morning.
The officers gave her a stiff nod as she concluded with Sofi ending up at the bottom of the stairs before they slipped out of her hospital room and allowing Vero to finally let out the frustrated huff she'd been holding in for the better half of an hour.
"She was totally eyeing you." Vero groaned, still sort of glaring at the door the two cops had slipped through. The blonde officer had caught her eyes, she'd been giving Lucy just a bit too much of her attention for Vero's liking.
"Baby, I have two black eyes, cuts all over my face and a busted lip. There is nothing for her to be eyeing right now." Lucy chuckled lightly.
"Oh please," The younger girl rolled her eyes. "You ooze charm, Lucia. You don't need your pretty face to win people over."
"So you'd still love me even if I had battery acid thrown all over my face?"
"Babe, you'd die if that happened I'm pretty sure..." Vero leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to the spot on Lucy's lip that wasn't messed up. "But yes, I'd love you even if your entire face was melted off. You got my heart, idiot."
"Hmm," Lucy feigned thought. "I wonder how much a heart sells on Ebay these days..."
"Jesus, Vives, I'm trying to be charming." Vero stepped back and threw her arms up in exasperation.
"I'm charmed." Lucy shrugged and suppressed the wince as she did so, glad the opening of her room door provided enough distraction for Vero's eyes to leave her for a moment. "Hey, doc," The beat up girl hollered. "You think my girlfriend's charming?" Lucy darted her eyes back over to Vero.
"You're unbelievable." The younger girl shook her head slowly before addressing the doctor. "I'm sorry, you don't have, like, a sedative for her, do you? Keep her knocked out for a few hours?"
