Kenzie POV.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"What happened to you?!" Annie asked in confusion, with the sight of me soaked in water. "I went skinny dipping in the lake." I replied. Her brown eyes turned so wide and her jaw dropped. "With Johnny?!" She said in a more loud whisper voice. Hayden was still sleeping, so she didn't want to wake him up. "No you idiot! I was joking. Johnny just pushed me into the water." I replied getting my towel out.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Oh, because I was about to say..." she said giving one of her famous judgey looks. "Calm down, were not in that stage. Yet." I said with a smirk on my face. "Ew, too much details!" She said scrunching her face. I laughed at her reaction.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Anyways, you will not believe what just happened!" Annie said getting a little more excited. "What?!" I questioned. "The camp pranksters pranked Lexi Jayde today!" Annie said getting off her bed. "Ew don't call them that, their so annoying." I replied. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The camp pranksters are a group of immature boys that pranks at least one person each day. They're little posse includes, Mark Thomas, Carson Lueders, and the most annoying of them all, Brandon Rowland. Last year they pranked me, by adding shit to my food. I didn't eat anything for two weeks.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Anyways they pranked her by, adding worms on her bunk, and when she woke up she had one crawling in her mouth." Annie said. My nose scrunched in disgust. "Poor Lexi." I replied while entering the bathroom. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Where's  Johnny?" Annie yelled from the room. "Oh, I think he's still in the lake." I replied while twisting the knob to the shower head. "You just left him there?!" Annie asked walking in. "Yea, but I'm meeting him at the garden tonight." I replied with a wide smile on my face. "Ooooo, what are y'all gonna do at garden?" Annie said having a smirk on her face. "Probably gonna have sex by the trees." I replied.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Kenzie! Watch you're language. You just met the guy!" Annie said playfully smacking my arm. "Chill I'm joking, and I know I just met him Annie, but you don't understand. Johnny's different. He's not like annoying immature boys. He's funny, handsome, and you can tell he doesn't treat girls like their just dolls to play around with." I said leaning my head on her shoulder. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Wow, you really must like him." She said. "Speaking of crushes... did you and Hayden do anything while I was gone?" I asked lifting my head from her shoulder. "Ugh, i wish. You don't understand Kenz, I really like him. He just is still to caught up liking you." She said with a frown on her face. It really did break my heart to see her like that. I was the reason the only boy she's ever liked hasn't liked her back. I always felt like it was my fault.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Don't worry An's he'll come around." I replied. "Yep, I'm still waiting." She said with a deep sigh. "Well once me and Johnny become a thing, Hayden will give up on me and he'll realize what a amazing, funny, beautiful person you are." I said trying to cheer her up. "Aw Kenz, that's so sweet. I love you." She said giving me a hug. "Love ya too." I replied hugging her back.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀_______________________________________⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It was exactly 8:45 pm. I had fifteen minutes till I was suppose to meet Johnny at the garden. I avoided him all day today, so I was kinda getting anxious to see him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀After I took my shower, me and Annie went to the archery station to shoot some arrows, and as usual we had a blast.  That was one of the sports we both enjoyed together. It helped us take our minds off of things.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I decided to go ahead and wear my black floral dress for tonight. I matched it with some cute sandals and added a bit of accessories to the mix. I lightly curled my hair and applied a good amount of makeup to my face. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Wow Kenzie you look gorgeous!" Annie said popping her head out from the bathroom. "Aw thanks An's." I replied as I turned around to face her. "You don't think it's to fancy though? Do you?" I asked while straightening the ruffles on my dress. "No! Are you kidding me? It's perfect." She replied.  I gave her a sincere smile. "Then I guess I'm ready to go." I said while closing my makeup bag.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Where are you going?" Hayden asked suddenly popping his head in the bathroom as well. "Um.. I'm just going to the garden by the lake." I said trying to avoid eye contact with him. "Oh, okay well I'm gonna be by the campfire if anyone needs me." He said walking out. There was something unusual with the tone of his voice. It seemed deep and not as happy as it usually was.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I starred at Annie waiting to make her move. "What?" She asked noticing my eyes examining her up to down. "Go to the campfire!" I yelled yet in a whisper. "Ohh, wait why?" She asked. Sometimes Annie could really be slow at catching up to things. "Stupid, maybe he'll make his move tonight." I said slapping her shoulder in a playful way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"We've been through this Kenzie, he doesn't lik–" I interrupted her by saying, "Oh come on, Annie did you not see the way he just walked out of here? He's obviously kinda sad about me and Johnny, so once you're there to comfort him tonight, he'll realize what's he's been feeling all along!" I said talking some sense into her. "You think so?" She asked while turning her head outside. "For sure." I said giving her a confident look. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Okay, then. Have fun tonight! Wait but not to much fun." Annie said giving her signature smirky look. "Okay mom." I said sarcastically. "I'm serious though. Be careful." She replied. "Right back at ya!" I said flashing a wink.  I walked out of the wooden cabin and started to make my way towards the lake.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I stopped at the breathtaking sighs of the lights surrounding the flowers. I never really noticed how beautiful it really was at night. I slowly started to walk on the wooden steps that led to porch of the garden. I felt my heart beating faster and faster with each step I took closer. My hands tingled in excitement hoping that Johnny was already there.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I got to the brown wooden bridge that led to the lake, only to see no one there. The excitement in my eyes slowly faded away as I checked the time on my phone. It was 9:20 pm. He was still not here. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I decided to just wait a little longer hoping he had a strong excuse to why he was late, but no one showed up. I started to pace back and fourth on the bridge making it creak ever five seconds. I didn't care though, I just wanted to see Johnny.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀As more time passes by, the more hope I lost. It was already 9:40 pm. His face was still no where to be seen. I felt my cheeks getting warm and my head start to throb. That's when I felt a cold wet tear slide down my cheek. I completely lost hope at this point and just slumped down and sat at the edge of the lake.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I was wrong about him all along. He was just like every other boy. I thought he was different, I guess my heart chose my actions this time instead of my brain.
