The next evening I sit outside and watch the pack children play soccer in the large yard. I couldn't stop thinking about the phone call. How Brian had looked at me. I bury my face in my hands. Just as I stand to go to the training area I hear someone come up behind me. The footsteps had become familiar to me.

"Hey." Amber sits down beside me. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Liar."

"I can't wait till this is over. Seeing how he looked at me when I told The Master he didn't matter to me. I was lying through my teeth. He knows that, but I know it hurt him anyways, hearing that. I just want all of this to be out of the way."

Only a moment after the call ended he had left the room while I started to speak with Jake. When I had gone looking for him one of the pack guards had told me he had gone out for a run. I had never felt more guilty in my life. He didn't come up to our room until early this morning and was gone the moment we woke and dressed.

"I saw him in his office just a few minutes ago. He said he would be there for a while," she hints.

I nod, standing. After climbing to the top floor of the pack house I lean against the doorframe of the office. "Brian." He looks to me. "You haven't talked to me since I introduced Alysandra."

"Sorry if I didn't like what I heard on that phone call," he snaps. I flinch at his tone, shutting the door. "I didn't mean it like that," he says in apology. "I just wish you weren't playing spy, even if it is for our side."

"Less than a month. Three weeks and it will be over." He sits down in the desk chair and I seat myself on the desk, facing him. "There will be nothing to worry about."

He stands again, stepping between my legs. I bit my lip and he cups my neck, stroking my jawbone with his thumb along the way. He slips his other hand under my shirt, swirling designs down my spine. I shiver at the action and he smirks.

I snag his shirt collar, pulling him in for a kiss. He shifts his position, nipping at the place between my jaw and neck roughly. I suck in a breath of surprise. He pushes me down, pinning me on the desk.

"Brian," I whisper.

His golden eyes told me his wolf had taken control. Alphas have golden eyes and Lunas have silver. I knew my own were flickering between green and silver now. He brings his lips to my ear.

"Let her out, Adalynn. You have strong Alpha blood. You know the need for marking Alphas have. With you and I both having that blood..."

The fact that I would have been an Alpha until I mated if the pack hadn't have been wiped out and my parents didn't have a boy made me a strong wolf. The stronger the wolf, the stronger the need of a marking. I feel my wolf take over completely. I couldn't control her anymore. Her freedom had been earned.

-----

After a few moments we were both able to reign in our wolves. My wolf was pacing in the mental cage I had created to contain her. She was right though. My wolf was dying for it and the human side of me certainly wouldn't mind being marked and completing the mating from there.

"Adalynn, I'm sorry if I went too—"

"I want you to mark me." He looked uneasy. "Please. I'm ready."

He buries his face into the left side of my neck, nuzzling it. He presses a lingering kiss to a patch of skin in the middle of my neck. He would mark me there. His teeth elongate into sharp fangs and they prick my skin. I cry out in pain as they puncture my skin.

Then an unnaturally sensual feeling washed through me, making my wolf purr softly in pleasure. It was euphoric in every way. There was no way to describe it but better than perfection. I should have let him mark me the second I found out we were mates.

My wolf was finally sated and I felt her give me the control I had lost when Brian had bit me. I snake my arms up and around my mate's neck, our eyes both green again.

"What are you thinking, baby?"

"That making you wait was a punishment to the both of us. My wolf is finally leaving me alone."

He chuckles. "Well, the human you has certainly been a stubborn bit—"

"Is there a way to be unmarked?" I ask, seeing what reaction it would earn from the big bad Alpha.

His eyes turn to gold again and he tightens his hold on my wrists. "You are mine, and mine only," his wolf growls lowly. "That has been made all the more clear now what you have my mark on your neck."

"You are mine, and I am yours."

So she let him mark her. I will update soon. Remember to comment and/or vote.
