Perspective {James} ~ A Jily Oneshot

"Alright class! Gather your materials and start brewing, kiddos!" Slughorn boomed at us durning potions. This was our first class of the morning, so Sirius and I were extremely tired because we stayed up all night.

Us being tired, and being in potions is not a good match. We scrambled out of our seats and gathererd the ingredients from the cabinet.

"Did we even grab any of the right things?" Sirius asked me as we started chopping up some roots.

"I doubt we did, Padfoot." I said.

"What's new then?" Sirius joked. We started throwing random things into our cauldron, and it started to bubble up.

"Wow. Look at us, we made bubbles!" I said sarcastically. Sirius laughed.

"I think we pass." Sirius said, and we high-fived. Then, I decided to check what Lily's potion looks like. Considering hers is always perfect. It was a light purple, with some wisps of steam above it. Sirius and my potion was a deep red, with lots and lots of bubbles.

"Padfoot, look at Lily's. Hers is purple, ours is red." I said, pointing at Lily's cauldron.

"Relax, Prongs. We were never good at this class anyways!" Sirius laughed, and so did I, I just really needed an excuse to look over at Lily.

She was literally the definition of perfect. She had long, luscious ginger hair and glowing green eyes. She was the smartest girl in all of her classes.

"Prongs!" Sirius said and slapped my wrist. "You've been staring forever!"

"One, OUCH! And two, it was like 30 seconds." I said, rubbing my wrist.

"One, I had to do it to get your attention. And two, more like 30 billion years." Sirius dragged his words. Both Sirius and I turned around to the sound of footsteps behind us, and it was Remus.

"Look at your potion, oh my GOD! It's horrible, do you want me to redo it for you whilst you both stare at Lily?" Remus screwed up his face when he saw our potion.

"Sure, go ahead. AND for the record, Lily is James's." Sirius pointed out.

"You know damn well she is." I said, clasping my hands together. Remus sighed.

"Whatever, Prongs. I'm just going to redo this potion, its making me cringe. Did you even use the right ingredients!" Remus shook his head and walked away to get the supplies.

"Oh, what would we do without our beloved Moony?" Sirius laughed. Then we heard more footsteps.

"Is Moony fixing your guys potion, again...again...again...again..." Peter started.

"We get it, Wormy." I said, eyes still locked on Lily.

"Again...again...oh okay then." He stopped himself.

"He is, because we just can't do potions." Sirius shrugged.

"Or you just don't try hard enough, Prongs and Padfoot." I was barley paying attention to his words, because Lily was just so damn perfect I couldn't even bother to listen. I stuck my hand in my hair and ruffled it.

"She's not even near us, Prongs, and your still messing up that hair of yours! From a best friend point of view, its not very attractive." Peter said, rubbing the back of his neck. I didn't even notice Remus was almost done with the potion, which was a deep color purple right now.

"What? Oh, I didnt even realize I did that." I said nervously.

"Keep on trying, bud. Keep on trying." Remus said, through still paying full attention to the potion. "It's done."

"Thanks, Moony." Sirius said, patting him on the back with a smile.

"Any time." Remus smiled, walking back over to his things.

"Alright class, please turn in a vile of your potion! And complete the essay that I assigned you, due in 2 days!" Slughorn said, standing up from his seat. Lily walked up to his desk in her short strides, and gently handed him her perfect potion.

"Yet another perfect potion from you, Ms. Evans!" Slughorn boomed, and the Lily pulled out a roll of parchment.

"Professer, I've also completed my essay a tad early." She smiled, and handed him that too. She walked out of the classroom right before I did.

"I haven't even started that essay." I said in awe.

"I'll spell check it for you once your done." Remus said jokingly.

"Very nice, thank you." I said.

"I've got to go, I know you all have a free period, but I have to go." Peter waved bye and ran through the crowded halls.
Moony, Padfoot and I took a spot against the wall.

"Psst, Prongs, look." Remus pointed to Lily who strutted past us in all her glory.

"She is so beautiful." I said, my jaw dropping.

"Way out of your league, mate." Remus laughed.

"Thats a dead case, Prongs." Sirius shook his head, and slid his hands into his leather jacket pockets.

"Absolutely hopeless." Remus added, a book open and clutched tightly in his hand. I stuck my hand into my hair, and watched as she walked by, her long hair now pulled back, her bag drapped over her shoulder. It's like she didn't even know we existed.

"Oh, shut up." I said, ruffling my hair, and nudging my friends in the side.
