The Beach

Marauders Fanfiction based on idea from sister. 3rd person POV.

It was a very sunny day at the beach. The Marauders and Lily were spending a week here.

"Alright guys. Today is going to be a beach day, so wake up!" Lily yelled in all their ears. James and Sirius slept on couches in the living room, Remus and Peter shared a room with two Twin beds, and Lily slept in the masters (on occasion, James would sneak in). Each of the boys groaned as she yelled at them.

"5 more minutes.." Mumbled Sirius, and he rolled to his other side.

"Come on lazy boys! I'be already packed everything up! Towels, waters, music, and all the rest of it." Lily said. James rolled onto his side, and then off the couch.

"Ouch." He said, the getting up and stretching. Lily laughed a little. James came over and gave her a sweet kiss on the lips.

"Good morning." Lily smiled.

"Morning." James said with a wink.

"Alright, one down and three to go." She barged into Remus and Peter's room. "Wake up! We're going to the beach!"

"Shhh, Lily. Sometimes you need to relax at the beach." Remus said, then pulled his covers over him.

"I'm in." Peter said, scrambling out of bed.

"2 down, 2 to go." Lily said. James popped out of the bathroom with his bathing suit on and his sunscreen done, and Lily could very obviously tell, because he had white spots all over him.

"Ready." James cracked a smile.

"James, you have some sunscreen...right there." She waved her finger to all the spots, when James began to run it all in. Lily couldn't help but laugh.

"Thanks, love." James smiled. "Now, I can get Sirius up, give me one second." James walked over to Sirius, and shoved him off the couch and onto the floor. Sirius woke with a jerk.

"James! How many more times are you going to do that?" Sirius said, surprisingly, with a large smile on his face.

"Probably every morning." James laughed, pulling Sirius up off the ground.

"Now, can you please get Remus? He's such a bum." Lily said, walking over next to James.

"I got this." Sirius said, cracking his knuckles. He walked into the room, and Lily, James and Peter all heard him yell, "I'M GONNA BURN ALL YOUR BOOKS IF YOU DON'T WAKE UP RIGHT NOW REMUS JOHN LUPIN!"

"That was good." Peter nodded. They heard a brief mumble from Lupin, who was then walking out of the room with Sirius.

"Here he is." Sirius had his arm around him, walking slowly into the living room.

"Alright, now all of you need to get dressed for the beach. And lather yourself in sunscreen too, because its sunny." Lily instructed. All the boys nodded, and shuffled into their rooms, leaving James and Lily all ready in their swim suits.

Minutes later, everyone had come out all prepared for the beach, and Lily had made sure that no sunscreen was visible on anyone.

"Okay, ready?" Lily asked.

"Yes, ma'am." Sirius said, and the others all nodded in agreement.

"Lets go." She said, and they all walked out of their condo, and down to the beach.

It smelled of salt, the seagulls chirping loudly. The sand was light and fluffy when they walked, and the ocean was a bright blue with the shimmer of the sun reflecting off it. The sun heated down on them harshly.

They picked out the perfect spot by the water, and everyone set their chairs up while Lily put up the umbrella and laid out a blanket.

"Sirius, please take of your sneakers!" Remus pleaded.

"No! I hate sand!" Sirius groaned.

"Hate sand! How can you hate sand! It's just sand, Sirius!" James said.

"I don't like the way it feels. Gross. Bleh." Sirius complained. James just couldn't stop laughing.

"Sirius! It's sand! So simple!" James said between breaths.

"But its weird." Sirius said.

"Weird!" James laughed on.

"Quidit willu?" Remus said, his mouth full of chocolate.

"What was that?" Lily said.

"Quit it, will you?" Remus said after swallowing his chocolate.

"Getting on me about the sand? Moony brought chocolate!" Sirius pointed at Lupin.

"Oh relax, will you all? It's supposed to be fun!" Lily smiled on, though all the arguing.

"I agree." Peter said.

"Now, whose getting in the ocean?" Lily said, walking towards the sea.

"I am! But, I don't know if Sirius can build up the courage to take of his shoes and walk three steps into the ocean." James laughed.

"Shut up!" Sirius bellowed. James laughed, running into the ocean after Lily. 

"Padfoot, come on. If you take off your shoes, I'll stop eating my chocolate." Remus said.

"Deal!" Sirius said, untying his shoes and slipping them off. They walked off into the ocean together.

"Eww, eww, eww..." Sirius said with every step. When they hit the water, he sighed of relief. Then Peter followed everyone else into the water.

"It's cold!" Lily said, keeping her arms over her head, and trying to jump over waves, but then they ended up going over her.

"No its isn't!" Everyone else said in unison.

"Oh, wow." She laughed, shaking her head. They hopped over waves for a few minutes, enjoying each other's company and laughing.

"Woah, look." James said, pointing out towards the wave. It was a huge wave, already staring to crumble feet away from them.

"You have to go way under! Touch the bottom!" Remus cried out. They all started swimming towards the wave with strength, and diving under it, but as Lily tried to swim under, the wave crashed ontop of her, encasing her and throwing her every which way. She couldn't breath, she tried to surface, she couldn't...

"LILY!" James cried out, swimming towards the shore. Lily was then washed up onto the shore, regaining her breath, coming back down to Earth.

"J-ja.." she tried to speak, but the wind was completely knocked out of her.

"LILY! I'M COMING LILY!" James yelled out, running towards her, and he crouched overtop of her. She gave him the thumbs up, and also have the rest of the Marauders a thumbs up to.

"Now, you really think I'm going t o be the beach bum? Lets get back in!" She pecked a kiss onto James's lips, and ran back into the water, all the boys cheering and smiling.
