It Is A Dark World

Tongues wage till they can
Words flow till they can
How long can she shut her ears?
How long can she withhold her tears?

Gratitude forgotten
Love forgotten
Truth forgotten
Courage forgotten

Those she helped grow
Talk of her so low
Those she stood by
Waved her good bye

Alas, poor thing, now she sees

Justice fails
Injustice prevails
Truth fails
Untruth prevails
Courage fails
Cowardice prevails
Loyalty fails
Betrayal prevails
Knowledge fails
Darkness prevails

Alas, poor thing, now she sees

All that she stood for
All whom she stood for
Not a single sound, aloud,
When she cried alone

Alas, poor thing, now she sees

The dark world deserves not her light
She departs, unheard yet right

Alas, the dark world, now it sees.
It sees, now it sees.
