"It is $US80,000", Edith said.
"That much!", Kathy gasped.
"It is a bargain", Edith smiled.
"George...".
"We have to use our life savings honey. Maybe...".
"If we could...".
And, after a discussion in the attic, they agreed to work things out.
"We'll take it", George told her.
And, once the legal papers were signed...they were now the new owners of the Amityville house. Edith W. Evans, (her full name), felt a sudden chill in the air.
She dismissed the thought that the Amityville house was haunted. "Well, I wish you all well. I have other houses in Long Island to see to other couples. Then I'm going home to Massapequa...and rest with my husband".
She got into her car...put her brown colored seatbelt on...then closed it. Then she drove out of the highway, and headed back to town.
