This summer was the worst yet the best.I met Shawn Mendes.Yes,the famous Shawn Mendes but it wasnt a simple meeting.It was way more complicated.I was dating him.Well atleast was.I was on vacation for 2months and we dated and fell endlessly and dangerously in love but every good thing comes to an end.I had to leave.I had to leave tomorrow and go back home which is 4hours away by plane.I knew from the start it would end like this but we stilled risk it."So what are you and Shawn going to do today?" My mom asked.We had packed away most of our clothes."I am going to break up with him." I said blankly amd although I was emotionless my heart ached."What?Why?" My mom said immediately with concern."I just cant go like this.I dont want to hold back Shawn from his career and his life."
"But hun,Shawn took your entire family out for dinner last night with his parents and gave you a promis ring.Why are you going to break the poo boy's heart?" It was true.Yesterday Shawn treated my aunt,uncle,cusions and my mom and I to dinner with his parents and sister and later that night he gave me a promise ring.It was stunning.A silver ring with a diamond in the center with smaller diamonds around the band itself and inside carved the day we met."I know mom.You dont think it hurts me too?I have to do this.Not for me but Shawn." My mom sat next to me and placed a hand on my back."Honey.Just do whats best not only for you but him.I know your aunt,uncle and cusions are going to be sad.Shawn was the only guy who stayed in you little cusion life.You know she gets bullied in school and she started to like it when Shawn and you would take her out and pick her up."
"I know mom but I need to do what is best.I got to go." I said.I went to my room and threw on a pair of skinny jeans and a crop top shirt and left my hair loose and put on my glasses and skipped the contacts.I grabbed my bag with my phone and grabbed my uncle's car keys.Since I had my drivers permit in America my uncle lent me his car.When I walked out to the livingroom,everyone's eyes were on me.My mom told them.I watched my little cusion's sad expression."Hey guys its best and he wont stop visiting.Its Shawn." I reassured before leaving.Shawn had recently purchased a house in America and so thats where he was staying.The ride was a long depressing one.I was listening to some music when my phone rang.I quickly hooked it uo to the blutooth before speaking.
"Hello."
"Hey hun," my dad's voice echoed.
"Hey dad.Excited for me to be back."
"No.Now I cant hang out anymore.How are you?"
"Never been better.You?"
"Same.Look I know you know your mom told me.I know I am supposed to be happy since I never met the Shawn Mendes and you arent dating but....I havent seen you so happy like you have been lately.You were laughing and smiling and I was happy and I dont want to see that girl gone.Do what you want but be that girl.Love you.Talk to you later."
"Yeah.Bye.love you." I said before hanging up.I finally reached to Shawn's place.His guards smiling and greeting me.I walked in the house ready to burst into tears."Hey babe.I cant believe your leaving tomorrow.I am going to miss you." Shawn said hugging me."Hey," I said half heartedly.
"Whats wrong?"
"Shawn where is everyone?"
"They went out why?"
"We need to talk."
"Okay lets go in the back." I followed Shawn as we walked outside and sat on the chairs by the pool."So whats up babe?You are scaring me."
"We need to break up." I said bluntly.Tears streamkng down my face.Shawn's face was shock.He stared at me."What?"
"We cant see each other."
"Why?Was it something I said or do or did Aaliyah say something?Y/N say something." Shawn inched closer to me and threw his hand around me."Shawn you are an amazing guy.I love you but its because I love you I have to break up with you.I have been the happiest with you.My dad my mom and everyone else loves you and knows how much I haved changed for the better but I need to do what is right.You are a superstar.A millionaire.You are suppose to be touring the world and writing songs with a girl who could follow you.Not some girl who will be on the other side of the world.I know you want to do this lonh distance thing.I do believe me but it isnt fair to you.You deserve the world Shawn and I cannot even give you a fraction of it.I am sorry." Shawn was crying now.It hurt my heart."No Y/N I am not going to let you go.I cant.We can do it.Please.I am not going to let the best thing that happened to me just walk out of my life."
"Shawn I am sorry." I said getting up and walking away.Shawn grabbed my hand and kissed me."No.You arent leaving me." I knew he wanted to do this and I knew how much this hurt him and I needed him to let go."Shawn you once said you wish to get your heart broken so you know how it feels to be broken so here it is."
"I would only want that if it was someone else.Not you." I knew he wasnt letting go so I had to hurt him for him to let go."Shawn you are losing it and you know.You arent focused on your music anymore."
"Well I will get focused if thats what you want." Shawn whispered.This is when I had to say it."There's someone else." In that moment Shawn stopped in his tracks.He just stared."What," he whispers.I could see the hurt in his face."Yeah.There always has been.He lives at home not here."
"I dont believe you."
"Well I am sorry I was such a good actor.I liked you as a celebrity Shawn.I wanted fame and money from you nothing else.You know I want tk be an actress and well this was my way to stardom.I never loved you."
"I dont believe you." Shawn repeated still shocked.I walked to the door and before I walked out,I took my promise ring off and rested it on the stand,"Well I am sorry you don't believe me but sometimes the truth is hard to believe." I closed the door and ran down the steps to my car."Y/N?" I heard Aaliyah's voice say.I turned around to see Shawn's family had returned.I looked at them and saw concern in their faces as they saw the tears."Bye." I said before taking off and never looking back.After I lift Shawn's place I decided to go and relax.I pulled up by the beach.It was around 6pm so the sun was beginning to set.I sat there and just cried.I ended the happiest thing I had.I knew I would regret it but it was best for Shawn.After about an hour I checked my phone and saw over 50 messages and 30 phone calls from everyone.My family,mom,dad,Karen,Manny and Aaliyah and of course Shawn.I messaged my family saying I was okay and I would be home soon.I responded to Karen and Manny saying I loved them and thanking them.I ignored all of Shawn's attempts and called Aaliyah."Where are you I am coming alone." I gave Aaliyah my number and hung up.Aaliyah and I became best friends so I trusted her.After a while I saw her pull up and she came and hugged me.I cried and explained everything.The lies I said and the truth.I made her promise not to tell Shawn and she told me I could always count on her and we would always be best friends.I said goodbye and I went home.My family tried to cheer me up and I acted as if they did but deep down I wasnt happy and they knew it.The next day we had to leave so we got dressed and packed up all my clothes.Karen,Manny and Aaliyah came to say goodbye."It was an honour have met you guys and had the chance to spend time with you guys." I said hugging them all."We will miss you.Always remember we will always love you." Karen said.My mom were talking to Shawn's parents I pulled Aaliyah to the side."How is he?"
"He is in a mess.He really loves you.He hasnt spoken much since yesterday and he kept crying but I saw him writing some lyrics on a paper.So he is getting back to his music.What about you?The concealer isnt able to hide all all the red puffiness under your eye."
"Hey.I will get better.Got to focus on school.Promise me you will study hard and take care of Shawn for me.I will always love him.No matter what." I pulled Aaliyah in a hug.Eventually we said goodbye and headed to the airport.I said goodbye to everyone and sat down after checking in.We had to wait for 3hours before for our flight so I was in for a long day.It was 30minutes before our flight when my phone began to ring.I thought it was Shawn but it was Aaliyah."Hey."
"Y/N I am so sorry.I know you trusted me but I couldnt."
"Hey Aaliyah slow down what do you mean?"
"I told him.He was going to take a break from music.He even said he wanted to quit and I couldnt manage it so I told him the truth."
I sighed."Its okay you had no choice."
"It gets worst..."
"AALIYAH WHAT?" I said panicking."He is on his way."
"Oh God Aaliyah."
"I am sorry."
"No its okay.Bye."
"Safe flight."
"Thanks." I told my mom what was happening but I mean Shawn wouldnt make it or stop me.He wouldnt be able to get through the gates.I pulled myself together and sat down trying to forget.It was 5minutes before boarding so we were getting in line.We were in the back so we were just waiting.It was about 10people before us and Shawn wouldnt be able to make it so I was sad.Five people before us.My mom gave me a smile."Y/N!Y/N!WAIT!" I turned around in shock.I turned around and saw a breathless Shawn stopping a few metres away from me.He was light pink from all the running."Shawn?" I whispered as tears began to well up."Y/N I love you.Dont leave me.I thought that I have been hurt before and I could move on but I felt cool an empty.I felt my world falling apart.I lost you.Please.I promise that I wont put my life on hold for you.I would go out and write,tour and enjoy life but only if I have you with me.Please." I ran into Shawn's arms and kissed him."I love you too and I lied and I am sorry.Dont leave me.I love you." I cried."Never."
"Never." I whispered.The few people who were waiting in line clapped and one person even recorded it.Shawn pulled out my promise ring and slid it back on my finger."I guess this is goodbye?" I asked.
"No.How do you think I am here.I have a ticket for your flight.I am going with you guys.I got to meet your dad right?I even have a bag."
Shawn pointed to the big bag on the floor."I love you."
"I love you too." He whispered giving me a kiss as we boarded our plane.My mom switched seats with Shawn so we could stay together.It was almost a fairytale.
