Henry's POV
"Hurry up", Ella said next to me as I put my homework in my bag
"Just for that, I'm going slow", I smirked as I slowly put my books in my bag
"Oh for gods sake", she said and pushed me out of the way as I laughed
She shoved books in my bag. "Let's go. Now"
She grabbed my hand and pulled me away as I shut my locker
"What took you two so long", Danielle says as we near her and Keaton
"He wouldn't hurry up", Ella huffs
"Figures", Keaton says and turns around
"I have to go now", Keaton says as he leaves for the field
"Good luck bro", I smile
"Yeah about that", he said
Before I could think. He grabbed my hand and yanked me over to him as he slammed a baseball hat on my head
"Let's go"
"I'm not trying out", I said
"That sucks. Let's go", Keaton told me as I smiled
So much for my new lifestyle
We enter the field and I line up with everyone else.
"Make a line where you want to play", the coach says and blows the whistle
I walk up to the pitchers mound as if it was my home. Keaton walks up to the home plate for catcher
"No offense new kid. But you aren't going to get this", a black haired kid said
"My name is Henry and why not", I asked amused
"Because. You're new at this and I'm Gabriel fucking Pierce and I've been the pitcher forever. See how no one is here but you"
"We'll see", I smirked
"Ok. Matthews. You're up", the coach said
"Um. Coach. I'm first", Gabe said stepping in front of me
"Fine. Whatever", he says
A random kid comes up to the base. Gabriel pitches and the kid got a send off to short stop. He got out. Gabriel struck out another, and then another got on a base.
"Good luck", Gabriel said smirking
I rolled my eyes as I got Keaton's spare glove on and put some sandstone in it and got it dirty. I got my good grip and threw the ball in the glove a couple times. Keaton was my catcher, so I was more comfortable.
The next kid walked up to the bag.
"Here goes", I muttered
Let's just say. I still got my magic! All strike outs. It was my turn to hit and I didn't get any home runs. Yet. I got some ground balls to the outfield though.
I looked over at Danielle and Ella and they were so into the game. "GO HENRY AND KEATON"
Tryouts were over and Keaton and I went over to the girls.
"How do you think did", Ella asked us from the other side of the gate
"Good. Maybe", I smirked putting my arms on the top of the fence.
"I know you did", she smiled
"That's all that matters", I smiled
